Indie Boards and Cards Launches Kodama Duo: Kindred Spirits Kickstarter

Not every game out there is great for 2 players. Some say they can be played there, but really can't. And others are honestly just for 3+ players. So what're you to do if it's just you and your buddy? Well, if you want to play Kodama, you can back Kodama Duo: Kindred Spirits from Indie Boards and Cards that's up on Kickstarter now. It's a 2-player version of the tree-growing game, that also brings the classic version up to 6 players if you want.

From the campaign:

Two years ago, Action Phase Games released the zen card game Kodama: The Tree Spirits. This year we are excited to expand the Kodama universe with Kodama Duo - a two-player version that utilizes the core mechanics of Kodama - the Decree Phase, a Growing Phase, and a Kodama Phase. Kodama Duo also expands Kodama to six players, and introduces new draft rules for Kodama.

Kodama Duo is a two-player version of Kodama: The Tree Spirits. You will grow a tree by placing branch cards in clever arrangements, making a happy home for your Kodama!

Kodama Duo is a card placement game for 2 players that plays in 30 minutes. Players will turn over one Decree card per season to set the unique conditions. During the Growing Phase, players take turns revealing branch cards and splitting them into two piles until each player has added four branch cards to their tree. In the Kodama phase, players will each choose one of their Kodama to score and live in their tree. The game lasts 3 seasons (12 turns) and whoever cares for their Kodama best will be remembered for generations!

The campaign is already over its funding goal with still 22 days left to go.
