IDW Games To Create Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Board Game

IDW Games has announced that they will be making a big-box adventure board game based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles license. (did anyone else just hear a guitar riff start up, or is it just me?) The game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shadows of the Past, is scheduled to be released early in 2016 and will have sculpted miniatures representing the Turtles as well as villains such as Shredder.

Designing the game is Kevin Wilson along with IDW’s TMNT Creative Team, franchise co-creator Kevin Eastman, Bobby Curnow, and Tom Waltz. There will be a limited-edition version of the game with artwork by Kevin Eastman. Eastman has said, “I’m so excited to participate in this game! Working with IDW on their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics has been amazing, and now to get the chance to go even deeper into the story and have fans play out key moments from the series for themselves is something that’s really going to blow people away.”

The game will be heavily scenario-driven, with content coming from the IDW comic. Each mission will take around 60-90 minutes and join together to create an over-arching narrative where players will evolve their characters fighting styles, gear, and other strengths as they continue on. Cameo appearances of other TMNT characters such as Casey Jones and Alopex will happen as well.

Stay tuned as we get more previews and announcements for the game.
