From the announcement:
Hoyuk is a language independent game for 2-5 players inspired from the very first prehistoric cities built in the Near East some 10,000 years ago. Each player represents a clan which settles with other clans to erect a village. The replica of a Neolithic settlement is built on the Hoyuk board using small square pieces representing houses but also more pieces come to complete the game such as Ovens, Shrines, Pens and more.. Purpose of the game is to score the most victory points and for that you will have many choices and it depends on how you play in order to win. The best clan will prevail in Hoyuk!
The theme is set in neolithic area so this is a very strong aspect of the game and people really like it. The 60 x 80 cm board with its big playing area, make the game easily recognizable but also easy to play it. Hoyuk won the Parthenay Game Designer's Trophee in France back at 2007 as best prototype and a lot of people had tested it in order to make it a good Eurogame.
