HEXplore It: Fall of the Ancients, the latest board game in the HEXplore It™ system, has raised almost $200,000 on Gamefound from a $40,000 goal with 26 days left to go. This cooperative, hero-building, adventure board game toolkit allows players to select their hero by combining several character options, such as their role, race, trait, and aspect, to create unique special abilities.
The game takes place in the Greenflame Forest, where players must work together to stop the terrifying goddess Adrimon from mindwiping the entire region. As players progress through the game, they will encounter various wayposts falling and people turning towards Adrimon’s guiding light.
HEXplore It: Fall of the Ancients is the second campaign in the HEXplore It system, and it offers a choose-your-own-path, board game/novel hybrid experience, allowing players to drive the unfolding of a complex and epic story with the heroes they choose at the story’s core.
Players will gain access to unique campaign-only equipment and statuses and power level their heroes throughout the entire length of the story. The game is designed to be replayed multiple times, as the choices made by players will affect the story in entirely different and unforeseeable ways.
To play HEXplore It: Fall of the Ancients, players will need to have the Forests of Adrimon Core Box. Optional items include the Forests of Adrimon Expansion, Forests of Adrimon Living Deck, Forests of Adrimon Encounter Deck, Hero Chest, and Stat Dice (one set per player).
HEXplore It: Fall of the Ancients is deliberately drafted in a way that minimizes story-based spoilers from leaking. However, a section called “Deeper into the Greenflame” provides a closer look at the campaign and how it differs from the Forests of Adrimon Core game.
The game is launching with everything on the table, meaning that the product contains everything the team has been working on, with no stretch goals to improve the book. The stretch goals that players can expect to see during this campaign include enhancements and reprints of previous volumes, including the previous Klik’s Madness Campaign, Core Boxes, Expansions, and Card Decks.
