Geekdad has a review up of Leviathans. This game’s had a lot of mixed reviews in the comments section here. Let’s see what Geekdad has to say about it.

From the review:

Overview: Leviathans is a game of steampunk airship battles, featuring massive (and beautiful) airship models and a whole lot of world-building thematic elements. I’ve only gotten a little farther than the Quick Start rules but wanted to give you an idea of how the game works. The Core Box Set features ships from the British and French fleets, but later expansions will include other factions as well.

I was born at a very young age. I plan on living forever. So far, so good.

Mixed reviews? Really? I’ve only seen people jumping to conclusions and saying how they didn’t care about this game because of Dystopian Wars, but most never played it.

Some have been excited and looking forward to it. Some say the ship has sailed (semi-pun intended) with how long it took to come out. So we’re finally getting it. It’ll be interesting to see how many people come back/start it up.

The review is great, and at the end It clearly states what will be the greatest problem: the price.
As long as the hype was there and everyone was looking forward to it, I personally didn’t mind the price tag (and I think is the same for many people).
I just wanted the game (yes, I was one of them). As the years passed, my interest faded.

And so, before even thinking of buying it, I want to play it first. But being in Italy, I doubt I will see any shop making the effort for a game that will cost around 100-110€ (120-130$).
