I was born at a very young age. I plan on living forever. So far, so good.

    Seriously, a 7 hour video?

    • Valander

No kidding. Haven’t watched it, but if it takes 7 hours to do a demo of the game, that confirms some of the fears I had originally about it and why I didn’t back it.

Halfway through, they stop playing and start making out, and then the rest is just them packing up, while talking about who’d win in a fight, David Rasche or Harrison Page, so it’s not as long as it sounds. I’ve watched it twelve times so far.

I like the cut of your jib there, Soulfinger.

But, yeah, a 7 hour demo is way, way too long.

I’ve got to echo the comments of the others here. SEVEN HOURS? Was there nothing to edit out? Didn’t someone at hour five declare that the whole thing had gone on far too long and was probably indicative of a game few would want to play? Was there nothing else to do that day?

  • Huh. Haven’t watched the video yet; I’m hoping there’s a LOT of exposition and other stuff. I demoed it at Gen Con 2013, and the game moved extremely quickly. I don’t know what would have taken them 7 hours to do, unless they played about 5 full games.

The video on YouTube doesn’t even mention “demo” anywhere in the title or description. They don’t actually start playing until more than an hour in. The game looks more like it’s a large “learning” game than a demo. The last couple hours of the video are them playing a board game.
