Sometimes a first round isn't your best. It's ok. If you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and go back into the fracas, you've got a good chance of coming out ahead, based on the knowledge you learned the first time around. Such will hopefully be the case for Game-o-Gami, who has relaunched their Kickstarter campaign for Immortal, their card game of mythological battles.
Modular gameboards create a space where beings of supernatural power from various pantheons (the opening set including: Norse, Greek, Japanese, and Native American) clash in dramatic battles of conquest. Gameplay is a bit like Othello, where placement of your card is extremely important. Along each border of the card is a set of numbers that represent their attack/defense value from that angle. If a new card is placed that beats the stats on one already placed, that old card is captured and joins the other force. So characters can change sides numerous times during the course of the game. But beware of special effects and rules that each character also possesses. A simple numbers game might not propel you to victory in your battle.
As an added bonus, at the start of this new campaign, backers at the $49 pledge level and higher before midnight on June 26th will get an extra free promo card.
