Frothers Unite announce a 2012 charity fundraiser:

From their announcement:

It’s time again for the (semi) annual Frothers Unite Charity Thingy.

The subject of this year’s miniature is ‘Sasha’ based on the superb concept art of Mr Des Hanley and to be sculpted by Tre Manor of Red Box Games with Mike Owen of Artizan Designs sculpting Dave the decapitated Orc’s head.

Fenris Games will be casting the bases and Grey Matter Figures the Mastering once again and The Mouldmaker.com will be doing the casting.

All are generously giving their time and talent for free. So what do you have to do to get a copy?

It’s simple…. just make a donation to one (or both) of the Just Giving pages set up for the project:
http://www.justgiving.com/Frothers201202
http://www.justgiving.com/Frothers201201
and remember to put your TGN user name and ‘TGN’ in the comments box so we can contact you when they’re cast.
There will roughly 120 metal copies of Sasha cast (it does depend on mould space) and the first 75 donors will also receive a resin base with Dave’s head.
We are hoping that the casting will be done in time for Salute next year but, as everyone is fitting this in around their real lives that deadline may have to be flexible.
Updates will be posted on the Fundraiser’s Facebook Page:

Worthy causes and top marks to Dags for organising the Frothers charity fundraiser again. Kudos as well to all those involved in the sculpting and casting of the figure and to those making donations too.

£2,400 already raised according to Dags’ last update on Frothers!

If there’s already 2,400 collected does that mean the limited mini is effectively sold out?

    • Dags

Hi – sorry for the delay in replying – as of this morning there has been 90 individual donations (including 2 anonymous ones and 1 person who told me that as he doesn’t game fantasy he’d like his mini to go to someone else) so there are a minimum of 33 metal castings still to go. I will, obviously, make an announcement when they’ve been allocated.

      cheers,

      Dags

No, I don’t think so. It’s just that people have been very generous so far. Besides which, I’m sure Dags would make an announcement in the event that no more figures were available.
