Battle Systems has just a day left over on Kickstarter for their modular sci-fi terrain system. They’ve made it through a bunch of stretch goals, and probably will make it through some more before it’s over. So go check it out.

From the post:

The Battle Systems Sci-fi Modular Terrain KS is in it’s final hours, and they just recently unlocked the uber cool Hanger Bay add on. Even with just over a day left they still another 7 stretch goals planned. Now is the time to jump in if you want some of this amazing terrain.

Would love to have gotten in on this one, if they do a KS with something more suitable to play Dust on then count me in.

  • This terrain looks incredible but I really don’t have a game to use it with. Hopefully they will do a fantasy version in the future for some dungeon delving

There’s actually a descent amount of Fantasy themed modular terrain around, especially if you willing to hobby it up yourself (gluing/folding, casting/painting, etc.). For a more ready-made cardboard product like this, look for Terra Clips. They’re nice, but pricey.

I was really interested in the Sci-fi stuff Battle Systems is offering, but the price point is a drag. Instead of just offering an elaborate pre-order with a modest discount and all the silly add-on gimmicks, I wish more kickstarters would just offer the backers a big discount for investing. I’ll probably just grab a small set or two when they hit retail. Probably. Maybe.

I’m really looking forward to this one!

It’ll get most use for sci-fi RPG’s with me. It’ll make a decent space station setup, it’ll be good if the players board another ship or when something boards their ship and they have to go hunting 🙂

It it’ll probably pass for MERCS as some kind of underground base too. “Approaching the facility now, still no response from inside. Entrance shows signs of a breach. Weapons hot and we’re going in…”.

They did an early update that showed their parts making standalone buildings and towers, which I’m hoping will be good for Infinity and various other games, but I’m not sure you get enough to bits to cover a board.

From what they’ve said the fantasy one is up next, check out update #5

I’m in on this also, great looking product with a wide range of gaming uses. I hope once this is in production they get a North American distributor. International shipping costs are a killer on a heavy weight products like this.
