Fantasy Flight Games put up an article talking about the design process for their upcoming Star Wars X-Wing miniatures game.

From the article:

X-Wing immerses players in heated dogfights between iconic starfighters, and at the center of these furious battles are the game’s stunning plastic miniatures. The Core Set allows players to field three detailed, professionally painted starfighters: one X-wing and two TIE fighters. Given how long fans have flocked to all things Star Wars, you might think it would be a simple matter to produce such renowned starships, but you would be surprised…

Today, Fantasy Flight Games is happy to share some insights and surprises from our X-Wing production notes.

What does the length of time fans have flocked to Star Wars have to do with how simple it is to produce a product? Why would we think something like that ?

It’s that kind of thinking that gets us Greedo shooting first and Jar-Jar Binks.

I find your lack of faith … disturbing.

Holy crap, did this thread get nerdy, fast.

I think it’s referring to “you’d think the molds were already laying around, they just had to stick them to bases” or something like that. Emphasizing starting from scratch instead of older models.

I think it just shows some sloppy writing.

    STAR WARS!

That Death Star doesn’t look very good at all. Wrong scale, wrong color, and flat as a pancake.

I think you already said that.
