I was born at a very young age. I plan on living forever. So far, so good.

If only the miniatures actually looked like those resin studio models, and not the restic poop they really are…

  • Shades

The image on the web-site shows what I assume are the restic models. They look pretty decent in terms of detail. The only flaw I see is what appears to be a nasty mold line on the drill weapon. Otherwise, the minis look up to par with industry standard, near as I can tell.

The painted Puppet Master and Puppets you can see on all our visuals are the actual pre-assembled plastic models, right from the injection press 😉

All the “grey” models pictures are those of plastic regular casts : you can check them on our Facebook page (“Escape – picture of the actual plastic models” gallery)

All I know is that the models previewed in the kickstarter updates were some of the poorest quality miniatures I’ve seen in quite some time. Especially for the price.

      • Lemminkaeinen

And you are the worst troll I have seen in quite some time. Especially for your tenacity.

        • joshuar56

          Stalker much?

          • Lemminkaeinen

Only in as much as I see you spread falsehoods yet again about a game I’m interested in. You post in approximately every Escape news item here spreading lies and half-truths while lambasting the game.

So what you’re saying is that they have deliver to US backers?

  • Grim6

Taban – any word on the KS Shipping schedule? Are the US pledges being shipped to backers directly from the EU or from a distributor in the US? Thanks!

  • joshuar56

Are they trying to sell the game on their site before fulfilling all their KS pledges?

    • 4tonmantis

I don’t think they’re trying to do anything.. they actually ARE for sale..

      • joshuar56

But they haven’t gotten US backers their copies yet?

      • Lemminkaeinen

Yeah, it’s for sale. It however says “This product will be in stock on Monday 31 March, 2014.” which I take to mean that that is when they will ship it. OTOH they are probably going to start shipping the KS stuff this week so I’m quite certain that KS people will have their shipped first.

        • joshuar56

Not by much huh? I wonder if they had dedicated all their resources to getting backers their games, rather than some to backers and some to their own retail, if they might have gotten them there faster. Really glad I didn’t back this company…

          • Lemminkaeinen

I’m also super happy that you didn’t and I’m sure that Taban are as well. I very much doubt anyone would want you as a customer.

          • 4tonmantis

If you didn’t back them then what are you so butthurt about? You post relentlessly after these guys and it sounds like you’ve got a serious personal grudge..

To understand the backstory, we have to step ten years back in time to when Joshua was a young and idealistic game designer brimming with good ideas. He answered an advertisement from Taban asking for “the best game in existence.” Joshua wrote his manuscript and sent the handwritten draft to them in the mail. Amazingly enough, it actually was the best game ever written, a miniatures board game of awesome intrigue and brutal combat set against a backdrop that encompassed all of time and creation, yet with rules so elegant in their simplicity that a child could play but nobody could ever hope to truly master it. Sadly, these rules were lost in the mail, accidentally shipped to an elderly Lithuanian woman, who mistook them for tax records and filed them away under “Kindling.” Joshua has tried to rewrite his game on numerous occasions, but every draft is merely a pale imitation of the first. He rages at Taban for their supposed complicity, but also because their games bear such a resemblance to his own — then again, all games do. Like the shadows of Amber, all games are merely imperfect reflections of that one game that he had submitted all of those years ago.

I felt a small tear well up in the corner of my eye..

Oh, man, Joshuar56… Soulfinger’s story explains so much. That is so sad. I am so sorry. We’re all behind you. I am sure that one day, you’ll reclaim that lost glory, and can shed all the pent up bitterness.
