Enjoy wargaming at the Festival of History UK

The Festival of History UK, with the help of Phoenix Gaming Club, will be holding wargaming events again this year.

From their announcement:

Phoenix Gaming Club are once again proud to announce their inclusion in the Festival of History 2010, to be held over the weekend of July 17th & 18th 2010 at Kelmarsh Hall, Northamptonshire, England.

This annual event, organised by English Heritage, has many attractions planned over the 2 days, including;-
Bloody Battles – Aerial Display/Dogfight – Military Combat – Tudor Jousting – Chariot Racing – Victorian Seaside – Hands-On Activities For Children – Re-Enactment Groups

Full current attendee details (and a review of the 2009 event) can be found on their website:. During the 2 days, there will be the following participation wargaming tables;-

  • The Battle of Khambula – Zulu War
  • The Battle of Naseby – English Civil War (in association with Warlord Games)
  • An American Civil War battle
  • Pegasus Bridge – WW2 scenario in 15mm ‘Flames of War’
  • Naval Battle using the Trafalgar rules.

Plus; We are extremely pleased to announce a major tie-in with Warlord Games, which will not only see them join us in running the largest game of the weekend, but they will be bringing their superb trade stand to enable people to purchase their excellent ranges of plastic and metal figure ranges.

All these tables will be manned by members of our club, and anyone attending the event is welcome to join in with one or more of them over the weekend.

Last years event attracted an attendance of almost 20,000 people and is the largest historical event of this kind in the UK.
