All of us, by now, are pretty familiar with crowdfunding via sites like Kickstarter and Patreon. But how many out there know of Patreon? Personally, I’m giving to The Whiteboard comic on there. It’s crowdfunding in a slightly different form. Instead of a particular item that you’re trying to back, you’re backing a person (or group of people) in general, working on whatever that person (or people) might be working towards. It’s a bit more nebulous, as is the pay structure. Different campaigns charge differently. Anyway, without going too much further into the intricacies of it, Encounter Quest has launched a Patreon campaign.
As you could probably guess from the name, Encounter Quest is a group devoted to making encounters and quests for RPGs. Joining in their Patreon campaign will get you access to encounters as they’re released. The first goal they’re looking for is the ability to open up a website where they can host all their material they make.
