We've all seen something someone else has thrown away and gone, "Man, that's still good. I can use that." That might be an old couch, or rug, or office chair, or one of hundreds of other things. That's just thrift, man. One man's trash is another man's treasure, after all. And it's just that sort of mentality that'll get you far in Dumpster Diver, a new card game by MegaCon Games that's up on Kickstarter now.
Players are looking to get Victory Points by playing Rooms and Assortments. Rooms are sets of at least 3 related objects (determined by what room they go in, based on the color of the card), while Assortments are just a set of 3 cards that don't match in any way. Players get cards by buying and selling them, stealing them from opponent's hands, and (of course) going diving through the "trash pile." At the end of the game, the player with the most Victory Points (determined by the cards they've played during the game, along with how much money they have) is the winner.
The Kickstarter campaign is up and running now. They're about 3/5 of the way to their goal with still 12 days left to go.
