Mantic Games enters the second half of their DreadBall Xtreme campaign with a Frenzy.

From the campaign:

The players are coming for the second half…
…and it is time to go on a Frenzy!

Dreadball is all about teams – and we want to get lots of interesting ones for you to pick from during this campaign! Traditionally we use stretch goals to do this – but sometimes we like to make up our own rules – this is Xtreme afterall!

Already we have funded the Xtreme game, the Xpansion set and locked in the first 4 teams (also known as the Season 4 teams) – and as a thank you for doing that everyone from Rampage level and up has got all those teams in their pledge.
BUT now it is time to really start ramping up the team choices!

We are going to unlock one new Season 5 team a day – starting tonight!

Everyone in at Frenzy or above is going to get all of these new teams – and they will be maxed too – so 16 players per team. This means if you are in there you can just sit back and see that value climbing!

I feel that $150 Rampage is the sweet spot here – although Frenzy has some extra goodies, it needs a big boost to be “worth” more than twice the price of Rampage.

Also, this is not made in the older Dreadball resin-plastic, but instead in a more “boardgame-y” type of plastic. In addition, the first two teams will come pre-assembled, so if you want tight joints or clear access to mould line removal, you may struggle to like the first two teams at least!

On the other hand, the crates and scenery look to be fantastic value, so it’s worth pledging at the $1 level and a just adding a few sets of those to your pledge if you are playing the sort of 28-32mm scale game that needs lots of scatter terrain.
