I'm a "crunch" guy. I don't have anything particularly against fluff, but I usually skip over it to get to the rules. That extends out to just novels in general. So I'd never heard of the Destiny Aurora series of books before I saw this Kickstarter to bring it to your tabletops in board game form. Anyone seen them? Give them a read? Any good?
But as I say, that's the book series. You don't have to have read them to enjoy the board game based on it.
The game actually allows you to play on two levels at a time. You've got the planet board where you will control your individual characters. Then there's the space board where you'll participate in breathtaking dogfights between different spacecraft. Pick your ship and your crew from the Coalition or the Renegades and participate in different episodic missions that link together to create a continuous narrative.
The Kickstarter campaign is already above its funding goal. As such, it's on to stretch goals for the next 29 days.
