Deadzone has made it past $560k and added in new support weapons for the Forge Fathers and Asterians. There’s always more, however, with the next couple stretch goals already posted.

From the update:

Wow – fantastic!

That’s the Asterian and Forge Father Faction Support in, meaning we’ve now added the Inferno Drill and crew member to the Forge Father Faction Starter, and the Asterian Weapon Drone with Fission Beam and Shield Generator Options to the Asterian Faction Starter.

I’m at the point that I want to sign up for this… but I have actually never pledged to a kickstarter before. If I pick the Strike Team (150) how do I know that I have picked the right stuff? If I accidentally forget to allocate one of the stretch goals what happens? The add on stuff seems neat but I don’t understand how that works either… and they are seemingly constantly adding new add-on stuff so it seems like it is actually unwise to commit to any of those.. can I pick add ons when the kickstarter ends? Arg.. this is confusing…

@4ton: Basically, how it works is you get an option to pick a pledge level when you make a pledge. That’s it. You don’t have to “allocate stretch goals” or anything.

Then, you add add-ons to your basic pledge level by simply increasing the total pledge amount to match your basic pledge level + how much the add-ons cost. Then, after the kickstarter is over a survey is sent out for you to fill in to tell mantic what add-ons you want with the money you’ve pledged.

Click on the pledge page and it’ll all be clear to you, it’s a lot simpler and less confusing than you’re assuming it will be. 🙂

@4ton. scarletsquig has the right of it. It’s very simple to do.
To make things even easier for myself, I keep a list of my pledge level and each addon I want in a note book, with the cost of each beside it, to make sure I’ve increased my pledge amount enough to cover everything.
I find its very helpful, as the survey sometimes isn’t sent out for several weeks after the end of the kickstarter, and its quite easy to forget what exactly all that pledge money was for.

  • …and to clarify, increasing your pledge amount does NOT mean to increase your pledge level.

So, you pledge at $150 for Strike Team, but you also want to add a $25 terrain pack.

Simply go to “Manage your pledge” and add $25 in. You don’t change the level, but simply add money in. At the end of the KS, Mantic sends that survey and you tell them what you want to spend the extra $25 on. So, if you added an additional $50, you decide how to spend that $50 after it’s over.
