Sometimes you come across an idea for a game and go, "That's awesome! I'm surprised you don't see more games like that!" Well, that's what we've got here with Cretacea. It's a miniatures skirmish game where you play as dinosaurs in the Cretaceous Period. Yeah, I'm sure there's a decent amount of you that just went, "That's awesome! I'm surprised you don't see more games like that!" I'm not one to really say, "I told you so." but... wait, yes, I am that type. I told you so. The game's up now on Kickstarter.
In the game, you pick your "faction," either herbivores or carnivores, build your team of dinos, and get to playing. Now, at first glance, you might think, "wait, why would anyone want to play herbivores?" But two things. 1) dinosaur herbivores are pretty badass. 2) the game's about more than just "kill the other guy's dinos." It's about survival, in general. The carnivores have to go out and kill others to survive, while the herbivores can just munch on some leaves (yes, "graze" is an action in the game).
The Kickstarter campaign's well over their funding goal. But you have to be quick, as there's only 8 days left in the campaign.
