From alien invasion board games to an alien invasion RPG. Seems that everyone wants a piece of our little, blue marble. In this case, it's Contact, a new sci-fi RPG that's up on Kickstarter. The world has been taken over by multinational corporations that have worked their way into basically every aspect of our daily lives. "Yeah, so, where does the 'fiction' part come in?" I hear you say. Well, we don't currently have various alien races making visits with rather cruel intentions on a regular basis (well... we most likely don't, anyway). In order to combat this new menace, the world governments have created Omega, an organization determined to keep Earth safe.
Players will take on the role of Omega operatives. Your job will be to protect the world from the hostile alien intentions that are constantly threatening the planet. You'll make use of powerful technology created using bits and pieces of alien tech. Heck, you might be a cyborg or AI or even the rare alien ally. The game uses a special rules system designed to work perfectly with this type of RP. It's called Contact Kore. In-particular, it is able to handle the small-unit combat that will most likely happen at regular intervals as you play.
The Kickstarter campaign is up and running now. They're about 1/4 of the way to their goal with still 25 days left to go.
