For many gamers in the US, Gen Con is the end of the gaming convention season. How untrue that actually is, though, as there are still other shows happening before the end of the year. For those up in the Northeast, you might want to check out the Connecticut Festival of Indie Games. It's coming this September.
As you can tell from the name, the event focuses on small, independent game-makers. So no Fantasy Flight or iello booths to be found. The festival is also family-friendly, so bring the kids, with most games being suitable for ages 10 and up. You can also check out a lot of games that aren't on the market yet. So if you want to be ahead of the curve about what'll be coming out in the next year, you'll want to stop by.
So if you'll be in Newington, CT on September 17th, be sure to stop by.
