It's a frosty, frigid morning here in Atlanta. I know most Southerners think that anything below 60F is "freezing" but it literally was freezing this morning (as evidenced by having to scrape frost off my windshield before driving into the office). So while there might be frost on the pumpkins, it's still Halloween Eve. And two terrain companies are having sales so great, they're scary! Battlefront to Launch 2018 Premium Property Pre-order Deal

Every army needs a great looking table to fight over and the Battlefield in a Box range is a fantastic way to quickly and easily put together a great looking battlefield.

To take your table to the next level and have some really interesting and unique looking buildings we created our Premium Property range. These Premium Properties include a mix unique buildings designed specifically for this range, as well as some new paint schemes of existing buildings so not every factory or café needs to look the same. Just like previous Pre-order Deals there will also be some free stuff as well!

The pre-order will launch on the 9th of November and run until we have hit our production cap of 2000 buildings, or the 3rd of December (whichever comes first). Once the pre-order has closed our production team will gather the numbers and start the casting and painting process (remember that all of these buildings are pre-painted!). In order to ensure that we can produce all the buildings and have them shipped out to you in March 2018 we need to keep the production run limited so once the pre-order goes up don’t delay or you may miss out.

Next week we will be showing off the full range of buildings, as well as getting into the detail about how the pre-order will work but for the meantime check out the new Municipal building (with a Manor house next to it for scale).

This week has been going by quickly, at least to me. But I've had a huge project I've been working on behind-the-scenes here. So having something keeping me very much occupied is certainly a good way to make time go by. But that just means it's going to be the weekend really soon. Weekend = gaming. Gaming = terrain. Adventure Forge 3D Map Maker Up On Kickstarter

The Adventure Forge is a 3D map making tool built in Unreal Engine 4 and designed to run on PC. With this tool, you can build hexagon or square-tiled maps of various scales, fill them with props, weather, lights, and characters, and then lead your gaming group on an adventure online or in your living room. It contains all of the necessary tools for a gamemaster to set the perfect mood for the story they want to tell!

Heroic Maps - The Lich's Lair Now Available

Esidore the Mage had been a likeable fellow, if a little eccentric. He had taken his studies very seriously, and in his home and workshop had amassed a considerable library of knowledge. He would spend hours studying and reading, but for him it was never enough. He would look around his library and see the hundreds of books he would never get round to reading. If only he had more time... That was when he began to research dark magic; dark magic that would preserve his soul, if not his body, giving him an eternity to learn. Now, centuries later, Esidore the Lich continues to collect arcane knowledge, sending out his undead minions to scour ruins for spells, and jealously guarding all he has.


A printable battlemap compatible with any RPG/Dungeon-Crawl game. Use as a standalone gameboard, or combine with any same-scale tileset.

Contents: A 30 x 30 map depicting the underground lair of a Lich or evil wizard. The entrance hall is guarded by an arcane warding spell, and from there is a treasury and a long-abandoned living area. The library is stocked with hundreds of books, and leads to a workshop laboratory where the Lich conducts foul experiments. The summoning chamber is lit with eldritch magic, and joins the throne room. Behind the throne lies the crypt where the Lich sleeps, although who can say if his Phylactory is hidden there. A secret door in the crypt room allows the Lich to escape if needed.

Deep-Cut Studios Print-O-Mat Service Review

Over the last couple of year, game mats have become have become a common accessory for players of all sorts of tabletop games, be it Miniatures Games, Boardgames, Card Games or Role Playing Games, with neoprene backed mats (mousepad material) seen as the premium product choice.

Up until now, these mats have primarily been available as an out-of-the-box product with a fixed format – whether it be a terrain mat for wargaming, marked out pitch for a tabletop sports game or a cool picture for your card mat. Custom printed gaming mats were also seen as premium add-ons for many miniature-related kickstarter projects.

Monster Lands Kickstarter Review

Monster Lands is a bit of a tease. Its cartoon artwork and cutesy graphic design are nothing but a honey trap, luring you in with the promise of a cute game for all the family but you will soon come to realise that Monster Lands is a meaty grown up game of resource placement and second guessing your opponent. However, even that veneer is misleading because behind Monster Land's euro game appearance is a game where the roll of a die can change everything.

In Monster Lands you must hire a group of mighty warriors to defeat fearsome monsters and conquer lands in the quest for glory and reputation. I'm not going to try and explain every rule and mechanic for Monster Lands, because believe me when I say there is a lot going on in this board game.

Clans of Caledonia Review

Clans of Caledonia is a Euro in the purest form. There’s no dice, little randomness and it’s all strategy. Your task is straightforward – sell your clan’s goods overseas for money and imported goods in order to score points to win the game. Of course, Clans isn’t that simple and there’s a myriad of other aspects to the game to earn its classification of medium euro. It’s certainly nowhere near as hefty as Ave Roma, but there’s more to it than Cavern Tavern. But Clans isn’t a worker placement – it’s actually an economic game with a couple of other elements chucked in.

iSlaytheDragon:

Hoyuk Review

Hoyuk is a tile placement area majority game for two to five players. Players are leaders of ancient clans trying to be the most remembered tribe. The player with the most points wins.

Renown Review

Renown: The Game hopes to revive one such treasure. It is a reskin of Schnapsen, a once ubiquitous, primarily 2-player game in Austria that has fallen from its glory days. Renown: The Game implements a small tweak that ends up making a big difference, adds some play options reminiscent of contracts found in many other trick-taking titles and modernizes the classic with action cards.

At its core, Renown: The Game is a point trick-taking game with trumps. The main difference in play between it and its inspiration is that Schnapsen does not require players to follow suit until the stock (draw deck) closes or is empty. In Renown: The Game you must follow the lead card’s suit or play trump if otherwise unable to. If you have neither, then you may discard any card to the trick. The highest trump, or the highest card of the led suit, wins the trick and the winner leads to the next.

Board Game Quest:

AssassinCon Review

At the beginning of each round, players will get a random colored deck filled with A, B, and C movement cards and will determine which color assassin they will be playing this round. Players will then pass their target cards to the person on their right or left, and the round can begin.

Each turn of the game will have three phases that players will complete simultaneously. First, players will select a card from their deck for their movement that turn. If you are playing with any dummy players, add a card from their deck as well. The movement cards for this round will be shuffled to hide players’ identities. Players will resolve all movement for the six assassins on the board and then move to the elimination phase.

Azul Review

Azul is played over 5 or more rounds. Players will alternate turns taking tiles from one of the available factories or from the center pile. The number of factories scales with the number of players and each factory is populated with four azulejos tiles at the beginning of the round.

Charterstone Review

As this is a legacy style game, I’m only going to give you a brief overview of the rules for the first game (You can download a PDF here if you want more info). Any additional rules will be up to you to discover. The rulebook has space for 29 rule boxes, but you only begin with about half of those in play.

Charterstone is a worker placement game where the goal is to earn the most points each game, with a campaign winner being declared after the 12th game. Each player takes charge of one 6-plot charter in a shared village.

Great Scott! Review

The goal of Great Scott! is to amass the most points at the end of 3 rounds.

Each player will start with 6 Commendation cards. Players will then setup the 3 Concept Decks and split the Asset Deck into 2 piles. Players will select 2 cards from each Concept and Asset Deck, starting with 10 total cards.

Escape from 100 Million B.C. Review

Escape from 100 Million B.C. is a cooperative thematic adventure game for 1-4 players. It plays best with 3 players and for that player count it takes about 90 minutes.

Through the Ages: A New Story of Civilization iOS Review

Through the Ages is a civilization-building game where players develop resources and technology, starting in Antiquity and going right up through the modern age. You can send your population to work, helping increase your production in food, resources, science and culture. While you do this, you must keep your happiness up to not incite a revolt. You must also maintain a strong enough military to combat other players.

Epic Monster Tea Party Review

theMCGuiRE review takes a look at Epic Monster Tea Party a brand new game from Playco Games and currently on Kickstarter. In this game you play 1 of the 4 included monsters and drink hero's in your cup of tea or smash them and take advantage of their unique abilities. So be careful to drink your hero's when best positioned to or loose them in a spill!

Mortals Preview

theMCGuiRE review takes a look at Mortals Decent of the gods a new game coming to kickstarter from Partial Arc, pretty much now! This is a fun simple title that has great character design, funny real world items, doom clock, big bad guy at the end and all the minions and monsters along the way! You are trying to close all the seals before the round counter runs out or you will have to fight an ultimate evil. What I like about this title is the tactical decisions you have to make each turn and you really have to think it out or you will get overrun. It scales nicely with the board management aspect and battles are not as easy as they may look sometimes. Its also difficult sometimes to keep everyone alive until that final battle (unless you can close all the seals)!

Recently, Deep-Cut Studios started a new program where you can send in a photo and they’ll print a custom game mat for you. They sent out invitations for reviewers to get an early look at the service and give people their thoughts. I was one such reviewer selected, and since I’d been meaning to get a custom mat for a while, I jumped at the opportunity. So, let’s take a look at the custom printing service from Deep-Cut Studios in this TGN Review!





Starting off, Deep-Cut had wanted us to talk about the entire process for creating a game mat. For me, that started with trying to figure out what, exactly, I wanted. As many of you have seen, one of my favorite games lately is Guild Ball. So, I figured I’d get myself a custom Guild Ball pitch. Now, I am no artist. I am definitely no graphic designer. But I know people who are and so I contacted one of my good friends, NotDice, and asked if he could whip something up for me. A couple hours later and a bit of back-and-forth, I had my image ready (small aside, in payment for the design, my friend didn’t want money. No, he wanted cookies. So, I baked 3 batches of cookies and a pan of brownies as his payment. He seemed rather happy with the exchange. I was, too). Below is the image he came up with (shrunk down, of course, because otherwise the image file is huuuuuuuuuuuge!).



The process on the Deep-Cut website was actually ridiculously easy. There’s a spot where you upload your photo and… that’s really all there is to it. Just make sure it’s a .jpg (the site tells you this) and you’re good to go. You do get a preview of the mat that will be made, which was good, and everything seemed just fine. From there, it’s a simple matter of paying for your mat and finishing up your order.



The shipping estimate said that my mat would arrive in a week. Now, Deep-Cut Studios is in Lithuania. I have to admit, I had my doubts that the mat was going to make it from there to me in a week, especially when it took a couple days for it to get out of Europe. However, once it hit New Jersey, it literally took only 24 hours for it to be sent out for delivery. I must applaud UPS on this one. Well done.



So, how does the mat compare? Well, opening up the box and unrolling the mat, the quality seems good. The edges seem nice and clean. The printing is good. It’s got a good backing on it, and the fabric seems very-well attached to the backing (there was no peeling of the fabric off of the backing, for example). And I could tell my friend did a pretty good job with the mat. Anything that looked “off” I chalked up to the original design, rather than the printing, itself (like where the pattern obviously repeated itself in the grass). Checking the size, it’s a full 3’ square, as I’d ordered. Though, there was a little bit of issue with the lines on the mat. In the pictures below, I tried to get as close-in to some of the details as possible and still have at least some focus on the camera (I don’t exactly have a professional camera studio set up, mind you).



A Guild Ball field has rather precise lines on it for the deployment zones, the goal line, and where the goals are. I had sent my friend a list of where the lines were supposed to go, and he showed me that he had, indeed, put them in the right place. However, the lines on the mat were off by about .5” from the edges. So, for example, that makes the goals about 1” total further apart than they are on a normal Guild Ball pitch. Talking with my friend, he figured that was because Deep-Cut had stretched the image slightly to give bleed to the image. For those that don’t know, bleed is when a designer will make an image larger than it needs to be so that when a printer prints it and cuts it out, the cuts can be off slightly, but there won’t be white space around the edge of the image. Look at any punchboard of tokens from a game and you’ll always notice that the image for a token is bigger than where the cut is. That extra area around the cut is the bleed. The photos below are taken against one of the official Guild Ball mats directly from Steamforged Games.



Now, I have to say, that any mat that doesn’t have specific lines on them (say, a battlefield for a game like Warhammer or Kings of War or Warmachine), this won’t matter at all that the image is stretched slightly before cutting. But, in the case of games that do have special lines on them (Guild Ball and Blood Bowl, for example), your lines will end up being slightly off. The Deep-Cut site does have a disclaimer saying to expect a 1% possible change due to the stretchy nature of the material.



So, all in all, I’m mostly-satisfied with my mat. Are the lines slightly off? Yes, and that’s certainly an issue if you want to make sure your mat is 100% precise (for a game that uses pre-printed lines on the mat). Will I still use it for Guild Ball games? Sure. I mean, yes, the game is a game of inches and it’d suck to find out you’re .5” away from a goal you might’ve been able to score, but .5” isn’t godawful. Is it perfect? No. If mat hadn’t had those lines on it, I wouldn’t’ve been able to tell that anything was amiss.

In the end, if you have a photo you’d like to use to make your own, custom game mat, I highly recommend Deep-Cut’s new service. However, beware if you want specific lines on the mat, as they could potentially end up slightly warped due to the stretching for bleed.

Heroic Maps - Storeys: Hadeshill Abandoned Asylum Now Available

Bad things happened at Hadeshill Asylum. Very bad things. People were content not to ask questions, and just stopped going near the place once the screams had stopped and the leaves built up on the path. But the dead don't stay quiet for long.

A set of printable battlemaps compatible with any RPG/Dungeon-Crawl game. Use as a standalone gameboard, or combine with any same-scale tileset.

Contents: A set of three 20 x 20 maps depicting an abandoned asylum. The rooms of the ground floor are ruined, with blood stains and haunted scratches on the floor, and ransacked bookshelves. The 1st floor is similar, where furniture has been used, unsuccessfully, as a barricade against whatever terror stalked the asylum. The basement, where the patiets were tortured, is the most horrific, with pools of blood everywhere.

Brigade Models - Latest Releases Available

It's time for a catch-up with recent releases, which for one reason or another (holidays mainly) we haven't had time to publicise properly.

Going back several weeks, we released a 15mm version of our Neo-Soviet BMP-BM infantry carrier. This is a 3-piece resin model with metal fittings, featuring a twin tri-barrel gatling cannon and a large opening access hatch at the front of the vehicle.

Our French Aeronef fleet received a massive boost with the release of the redesigned Les Arc fighter carrier. This has a dirigible (eg airship) hull with a forward flight deck. This version of the model is a lot larger than the one it replaces, with a resin hull and a multitude of metal fittings such as turrets, masts, funnels and cranes. We've also updated the French carrier fleet pack to include the new model.

In our Small Scale Scenery range, we've updated and re-released our sound mirror models, replacing the old ones with slightly tweaked new versions and adding two new types of smaller acoustic mirror. These now come six to a pack, two each of three designs.

And in our City Blocks series, we've added two new designs. The first is a set of four inner curves that can replace the existing corner pieces, or when used together will make up a circular plaza. And finally for this marathon update, we have two end terrace blocks which can be used to terminate a row of city blocks.

A single tile is 30 mm x 30 mm big (1,18 inch x 1,18 inch), so that even miniatures striking dynamic poses fit comfortably onto a single tile. The height of all wall elements is 50 mm, the length is a multiple of the measurement of a paving tile: 30 mm, 60 mm , 90 mm or 120 mm (width 1-4, please see below). Additionally there are several special walls, corner pieces, door frames and columns – similar to a classic LEGO kit. You are able to build a variety of different 3D dungeons in a quick and easy way.

Heroic Maps - Storeys: Harwenna's Tower Available Now

The Elven Witch Harwenna had this tower built in the 12th Age, when the ice sheets still covered the north and the sea levels were lower. And now, despite millenia having passed, the tower still stands, a testament to Elven construction. The name lives on in the small communities of Elves that live in the region still, and whilst the tower is now empty, overgrown and crumbling, some say it still retains some of the magic of the original owner.


A set of printable battlemaps compatible with any RPG/Dungeon-Crawl game. Use as a standalone gameboard, or combine with any same-scale tileset.

Contents: A set of multi-level battlemaps, depicting a ruined Elven tower in a forest setting. The 20x20 ground floor shows the crumbling ruins in the woods, and each of the 5 subsequent levels has a cracked floor of ornately decorated Elven marble, overgrown with plants and vines. Aside from the ground and 5th floors, the rest can be arranged in any order.

Secret Weapon Miniatures Trying To Get Tools Back From Wargames Factory

Secret Weapon Miniatures (Secret Weapon) regrets to announce that the Tablescapes Tiles product line is currently limited to stock-on-hand.

Secret Weapon owns the tools (i.e., molds) to manufacture Tablescapes Tiles. The tools, however, are currently held by Wargames Factory (WGF), the former manufacturer of Tablescapes Tiles. WGF refuses to release the tools back to Secret Weapon despite numerous attempts to resolve an overbilling issue with WGF. Notwithstanding a written agreement between Secret Weapon and WGF that specified the manufacturing costs, WGF overcharged Secret Weapon for the manufacturing of the tiles that resulted in a 50% increase in cost-per-shot, going back back to the original Kickstarter release.

Forge Prints Running Adventurescapes Kickstarter

Forge Prints is at it again! The Rhode Island-based model miniature company is celebrating the launch of their 6th Kickstarter, Adventurescapes, on September 6th 2017. With Adventurescapes, Forge Prints brings us for the first time into the realm of Kelvaria, showcasing three unique encounters and all the tiles and accessories required to bring these scenes to life. In the first three Forge Prints Adventurescapes, we find the Crown n' Laurel Tavern, which has a mimic infestation; the Ghrys boatdocks, home of smugglers and merchants alike; and an Alchemy Chamber seated in a necromancer's tower deep in the forest.

This is the largest and most ambitious offering to date for Forge Prints. Following the success of their last campaign "Foundations 4: Rise of the Mimics", Forge Prints will be continuing their partnership with Old Rogue Studios, thereby giving backers a choice between unpainted resin or a fully hand-painted version of their order.

Heroic Maps - Storeys: Pyramid of the Sun Priests Now Available

Deep within the rainforest and jungle of the Ixtlu Peninsula, the Sun Priests still perform their bloody rituals, despite the Empire they served having collapsed millenia before. The pyramid rises from the forest canopy, and is crested by a blood-stained altar. Within the pyramid are two temple chambers, one of which includes a sacrificial pit. Victims are shoved into the pit, alive or dead, as an offering to the Sun. If they survive the fall, they don't survive the perils that lurk below.

Contents: A set of two 30 x 30 maps depicting stepped pyramid in a jungle. Three sets of steps climb the sides of the pyramid, two of which reach the peak where there is a sacrificial altar. The third set lead to a doorway into a temple chamber within the pyramid. Internal stairs lead to another chamber with a pit. Below the pit is a full cavern complex, with pools of water, jungle plants where the surface has collapsed to allow light in, and piles of victim's bodies. Perfect for jungle adventures in Aztec / Mayan / Incan inspired settings.

The work week rolls along (that's a pun for my friend Gavin who just dumped a bunch of ball bearings on the floor, apparently). We're another step closer to that always-anticipated weekend (at least, I always am anticipating it). Here's to hoping yours is filled with gaming (mine will probably be filled with baking). Brigade Models Update

Time for a quick update on the latest additions to our website.

Way up in orbit we've released a pack of very handy satellites in our spaceship range. The cylindrical craft have two solar panels and would serve as comms or spy satellites or Starmada battlesats.

Back down to earth, we've released a pack of four girder bridges in our Small Scale Scenery range. These three part metal models are useful for both road and rail crossings, and several can be used together to span wider gaps.

Contents: A small military style spacecraft that could be used as a scouting vessel, recon ship, interceptor or communications shuttle. The ship is very high-tech, with space for a crew of 5. The ship is equipped with complex technical equipment, but the lack of crew quarters indicates this vessel operates near a planet or mothership.

Sally 4th 28mm scale US Arts & Craft Style Buildings Released

Two new modern building kits join Sally 4th’s range of 28mm kits this week, based on US housing in the Arts & Crafts style, these models will suit gaming in many parts of the USA from 1890 to the present day. Both buildings are based on ‘The Prairie School’ of architecture, championed by Frank Lloyd Wright and other influential architects at the turn of the 20th century. This style of architecture was extremely popular particularly in Chicago and California, making the buildings ideal for both 1920’s Gangster era gaming as well as modern era pulp gaming and zombie apocalypse games such as ‘The Walking Dead’
Both of these designs are also available in 15mm scale.

Heroic Maps - Spindlecave River: Rogue's Nook Now Available

The famous Spindlecave River flows for hundreds of miles beneath the mountains, flowing through absolute darkness for most of it's route, but also through various locations and ruins along it's length. One such location is Rogue's Nook, a small settlement populated by exiles, smugglers, thieves, charlatans and other unsavoury types. With shanty towns and a black market, you're sure to find a buyer for that stolen item.

A printable battlemap compatible with any RPG/Dungeon-Crawl game. Use as a standalone gameboard, or combine with any same-scale tileset.

Contents: A 30 x 30 map depicting a shanty slum town deep within a cave. The rooms are cavern chambers carved from the rock, and the site is divided by the Spindlecave River that flows through it. The settlement has a handful of living areas, a tavern, various food and good stalls, an alchemist and a fortune teller.

Hard to believe it's Friday already. A week ago, we were into the 2nd day of Gen Con. This week has been one of recuperation from the show along with trying to catch up on almost 2 weeks' worth of e-mails. O,o

We have a set of ruins and the foreman's office add-on for the promethium rig.

The foreman's office sits at the same height as the promethium rig and is connected by a single bridge. The railing can be cut in any place to allow the bridge to join on anywhere you wish.

The office comes with the same sliding doors as the rig and a removable roof.

The shuttle bay a large open platform attachment for the promethium rig. It doesn’t have to be used as a landing pad you could add anything you like to it to make it your own such as a comms array etc.

The industrial offices is a new building, featuring two large chimneys, a removal roof and top floor plus optional lighting.

These are all stretch goals for the Tubular buildings kickstarter Currently running.

Brigade Models - New French Aeronef

The Aeronef revolution continues, as this week we update the French fleet with new battleship models. The Loire replaces the old model of the same name, and in keeping with our other new models, it now has a resin hull with lots of metal fittings – turrets, tail, bridge, masts and funnels.

The new Masséna model represents a family of related but not-quite-the-same battleships. It has a similar (but not identical) tumblehome hull to the Loire, but the top superstructure is a separate metal piece that comes in three different types. The tail comes in the same three variants as the Loire, giving a total of nine combinations on the basic hull. In addition, the main turrets can be single or twin mountings – altogether, we think this gives an impressive total of 48 slightly different variations from a single model.

At the same time we’ve revisited the French fleet packs, revamping the contents of the existing one and creating two new ones so that all of the new French capital ships are available in one.

Brigade Models Releases New British Assault Ships

This week we've added a new dimension to our British spaceship fleet, with a set of assault ships for carrying and landing troops on the surface of a planet.

The Fearless class Assault Ship is capable of carrying a full Royal Marine battalion plus supporting vehicles, including a company of tanks, through jumpspace into orbit ready for insertion. This task is accomplished by atmosphere-capable craft including the Heracles shuttle and Athena VTOL/dropship. The Heracles shuttle is large enough to carry two tanks or APCs plus their infantry, or as many as two platoons of infantry on foot. The Athena is a drop-capable craft which can be deployed from orbit and can then be used as a conventional VTOL once in the atmosphere.

Brigade Models Releases 2mm Scale City Blocks

Many European city centres are built, at least partially, on a block system. The blocks of apartments generally have shops or offices on the ground floor with 4-6 levels of apartments above that. They surround a central courtyard which can be a garden space, parking or can sometimes be partially filled with smaller buildings and sheds. A perfect example of this is Barcelona's appropriately named Eixample district.

Today we've released what we hope should be some very useful City Apartment Blocks. We’ve created three sets – a pack of four corners, another of four straight blocks, and a third consisting of two T-pieces and two straight pieces with an archway into the courtyard area. The blocks are built on a 40mm footprint – each corner is 40x40mm with the depth of the apartments set at 20mm. This means that a pack of four corners will create a block 80x80mm square, with a central 40x40mm courtyard. Adding straight pieces means that the blocks can be extended in 40mm increments. For gaming purposes, this works perfectly with rules that use 40mm frontages for figure bases, as units can be placed in the courtyards to indicate that buildings are occupied.

Crocodile Games Releases Remastered Abominable Snowbeast

He's big, he's hairy, and he's back - now in resin at a lower price... the Abominable Snowbeast returns to Crocodile Games!

The Abominable Snowbeast model is one of the largest figures that we produce, nearly a pound of metal and lots of parts to assemble. We've always wanted to be able to sell it for a better price, and to make it easier to assemble, so we've teamed up with On The Lamb Games (specialists on resin production) to produce an improved model - made in high-quality resin.

What did we do differently with this version? The new Snowbeast has been remastered from Ben Siens's original sculpture, but is now lighter, less expensive, and with fewer pieces to assemble. The body/chest area has now been made into one single piece, rather than 2 parts that were difficult to glue, and inevitably ended up with gaps that had to be filled with putty. The new model fits together much easier! What's more, the resin castings actually have less distortion than the earlier metal castings. And did we mention that it is now less expensive? We're now able to sell this giant model for $59.95, that is $15 less than the old price of the metal casting.

The Wendigo Summoner model is still included, and he still has a metal body - but his horn is now in resin. Because the resin is a little lighter than the metal, the Summoner is now less top-heavy, so he'll stay on his feet when the Snowbeast stomps around, shaking the table!

Sally 4th is now letting you recreate those battles with their South Pacific supplement for Combat Patrol. It is available now. But it's not just the supplement that's new. There's also a new deck box and some terrain.

This week sees the release of the new Combat Patrol supplement for gaming platoon level engagements set in the Second World War Pacific Theatre of Operations.

Fighting in the South Pacific during World War II was unique compared to other theatres, even other parts of the Pacific. This supplement includes rules that represent the unique nature of Japanese morale, Banzai! charges, suicide anti-tank attacks, night infiltration, vehicle-mounted flame throwers, and other rules. The Banzai! charge rules strike a good balance between effectiveness without overpowering the charge and making the Japanese invincible.

Of these new rules, the most significant are those for Japanese morale. The basic morale rules work very well for other theatres, including China, Burma, and India. In Combat Patrol™ morale failure is represented more as a loss of cohesion than a sudden, unexpected retreat. As units take morale checks, the unit gradually dissolves or stops responding to commands. Japanese morale failure in the South Pacific seems to have been more unit oriented than individual; the unit leader will decide to retreat, take cover, or assault the enemy in response to fire rather than individuals melting into the jungle. The new morale results reflect this.

Japanese Action Deck RRP £6.50

In Combat Patrol™: World War II, cards in an Action Deck are used by players to resolve shooting, determine movement distance, conduct hand-to-hand combat, and check morale. This eliminates the need for charts and tables. Each player has an Action Deck that he uses to resolve these actions. New decks are now available for gamers using a Japanese army. The parts of the cards that deal with small arms fire, melee, HE, movement and cover saves are the same as all of the other Combat Patrol decks, but the Morale section is unique to reflect the rules for Japanese morale. The new cards are optional as existing cards can be used to cross reference the Japanese morale rules in the supplement, but having the specific cards makes morale tests a lot easier.

Sally 4th has released two new accessories for Combat Patrol players this week.

Promethium Rig Added To Tubular Buildings Kickstarter

This is the promethium rig. A huge promethium platform for extracting promethium from planets. This huge model measures 52x52x52 cms and is my largest single building to date. This would make an amazing center piece to any table in a hobby room or club. It adds almost 4 square feet of extra playable area to a table and that's only counting the top. There are Also 8 platform attached to the legs with 4 walkways connecting them.

The top has three separate rooms with plenty of space, they are on two different levels, they have loads of windows and walkways for moving around and shooting through. 8 ladders are included for moving from level to level.

This set is exclusive to Kickstarter and will not be available after 3rd Sept.
