New Aurox APC Available to Order From Forge World

Slogging it on foot into battle is no fun. You’ve got enemy small-arms fire, the possibly difficult terrain, and have you ever had to smell what’s going on out there? Whenever possible, taking an APC to the combat line is going to be a better option. And for your Imperial troops, they can now hop onboard an Aurox Armored Transport. You can order yours now from Forge World.
They’re also doing a “last call” for Elysian Drop Troops if you want ’em.

Nagual Meso-American Giant Robot RPG Up On Kickstarter

I love when I see a new twist on a theme. We’ve seen giant robots before. We’ve seen alien invasions before. But normally, that sort of stuff is focused on Japan. Well, in the case of Nagual, it’s Meso-America that’s got the giant robots that are fighting off the evil, invading aliens. You can check out this RPG on Kickstarter now.
Oh, and of course, Giant Robot Alert! We have Giant Robot Alert!
I dig giant robots.

Star Trek Adventures Tactical Combat Rules Released For Free

Long-time readers know I’m a fan of when a company puts up rules online for free so you can check them out. Modiphius has done just that with the combat rules for Star Trek Adventures. You can download the pdf and see exactly how the stalwart crew of the Enterprise fights all those space-Nazis and Gorns and such. Just… y’know, don’t wear your red shirt when heading out with the away team.

New Expansions Announced For Imperial Assault

Some people might’ve thought that since Fantasy Flight came out with Star Wars: Legion, that maybe Imperial Assault would get left behind. It does seem like it’s been a while since the last expansion came out, but that will soon change. Fantasy Flight’s announced the Tyrants of Lothal expansion, as well as several Ally and Villain packs.

Midweek Snippets

Wednesday already. Granted, for me, it’s usually the day of the week that takes the longest. Not that there’s anything particular terrible that happens on Wednesdays. It’s just the day that seems to go on the longest. Gotta make it up and over that hill and then we can slide back down toward the weekend. “Step by step, you climb the mountain,” such as it were. But when climbing mountains, you need to bring along provisions. In this case, it’s bite-sized gaming stories.

Today on the platter we have: New Cross-Shaped Clear Bases Available From Sally 4th, Dog Centaur Minis Available From Punga Miniatures, Wizards and Lizards Paper Minis Available From Okumarts Games, New Space Corsair Mini Available From Brother Vinni, Overrunners Sci-Fi Minis and Vehicles Up On Kickstarter, and Big Fat Panda Running Gaming Protection Components Kickstarter.

Shades of Vengeance Running Battlecruiser Alamo RPG Kickstarter

It can be so hard to decide what character you want to play in an RPG. You can’t be great at everything. That’d be overpowered. But, of course, many of us want to be great at everything. Well, in Battlecruiser Alamo (based on the novel series of the same name), you get to play two characters. The first is an Officer that stays aboard the space ship and fights in cosmic battles, while your Espatier fights in battles involving more close-quarters combat. The game is up on Kicsktarter now.

Fantasy Flight Previews General Veers Expansion for Star Wars: Legion

General Veers is probably my favorite character from Star Wars. For all the series tells us that the Empire is cold, ruthless, and efficient, it’s at the battle of Hoth that we finally really see it. Veers commands that battle brilliantly, taking out key parts of the Rebel’s base and causing a rather quick and panicked evacuation for the forces stationed there. Soon, he’ll be able to bring that to your tabletops in Star Wars: Legion.

Elite Dangerous RPG Core Book Now Available

I certainly wouldn’t mind having my own starship. I mean, just think of all the places you could go. It’d be amazing! But, of course, there’s plenty of dangers out there in the galaxy. Hostile aliens. Corrosive environments. Exploding stars. But it’s into that world you’ll be put in the Elite Dangerous RPG. It’s available now.

The Drukhari are what the Dark Eldar are apparently being called these days. I have to say, it certainly sounds more interesting of a name than just Dark Eldar. There’s also the data cards you can pick up as well, plus some various force bundles.

Dinosaur Protocol For Savage Worlds Up On Kickstarter

I have to admit, this one had me at, “Hello.” I mean, it’s a setting book called Dinosaur Protocol. I instantly wanted to know more. And what I learned is that some sort of disaster had caused humanity to flee the surface of the Earth. Nobody’s 100% sure what it was, as that was hundreds of years ago. But when leaving those dark holes in the ground, they found that the Earth had carried on just fine without them, actually deciding that the time of the Dinosaurs was the best time. So that’s the world that humanity has come back into. But how will they live and work in this new environment? That’s up to you to decide. The setting book for the Savage Worlds system is up on Kickstarter now.

Armoured Digital Miniatures Game Up On Kickstarter

Tanks.
“You’re welcome.”
No, Tanks!
“Ok, you’re not welcome!”
No, I mean that Armoured Digital, a new sci-fi skirmish game, is full of tanks and other armored vehicles (or, I suppose, armoured vehicles) that you “program” using your activation cards, deciding where and when your figures will turn, fire, and move. The game is up on Kickstarter now.

Midweek Snippets

We’re halfway through the week, folks (well, those of us that work Monday-Friday, that is). I hope your week is going along well. For mine, I’ve been coming up with a new character for a D&D game starting up soon. I’ve never made a 5th Edition character before, but I’ve made dozens of them for other editions. So it’s a bit of “this is familiar, but not.” I’m doing my best to not accidentally inject 3rd and 4th edition knowledge into 5th, and make assumptions based on those and thus, screwing things up. But I think I’m getting it. But if I’m going to finish this character up, I need to refresh with some bite-sized gaming stories.

Today on the platter we have: Gravetides Fantasy Naval Fleet Up On Kickstarter, New Ogre Chariot From NonsenseMiniatures, Rebel Minis Releases New Viper Models, and Big Crystal Field Bases Now Available From Tabletop-Art.

Fantasy Flight Announces New Star Wars: Legion Expansions

In the base game for Star Wars: Legion, the Imperials get themselves the iconic Speeder Bikes from the battle of Endor. In the expansions that are out, they can pick up an AT-ST, also from that same battle. However, the Rebels don’t have much in the way of Endor-related figures. That will soon change, as Fantasy Flight has announced the Han Solo as well as the Rebel Strike Team expansion kits.

Friday Snippets

We’ve made it to Friday! Woo! Congratulations, everyone. Good job. Just a bit more and we’ll make it to the weekend. My plans look like they’re going to include trying to paint up my Hunter’s Guild and making Jammie Dodgers. We’ll see how all that goes. But before I get to all that, I need to fill up on some bite-sized gaming stories. And, starting out, Kraken Dice certainly has been busy this morning…

On the platter today we have: Glitter Bomb Dice Sets Available From Kraken Dice, Second Batch of Ethereal Shaman Dice Coming Next Week, Island of Misfit Dice Sets Available Today, New Custom Dice Trays From Deep-Cut Studio, Skirmisher Publishing Releases Heroes & Monsters of the Necropolis: Tokens & Avatars for Virtual Tabletops, Chicharra Hopper Sci-Fi Hopper Up On Kickstarter, Impact! Well, the world’s come to an end again. Damnit, Todd! I told you that starting a nuclear war was a bad idea! Now we’ve gotta go out from the shelters and rebuild society. Dreamscarred Press Running Psionics Guide For Starfinder Kickstarter Campaign

“It’s mind over matter” takes on a whole new meaning when psionics get involved. In the far-off future and in the various corners of the galaxy, some humans and aliens have learned that the mind can be a very powerful thing, capable of moving mountains. And I don’t just mean by inventing steamshovels. Dreamscarred Press is running a Kickstarter campaign to create a Psionics Guide for the Starfinder RPG system.

Quite a blustery day here in Atlanta for the middle of the week. Despite being the first day of spring, it seems as though winter is looking to hang on for a little longer.
