Wednesday already. Granted, for me, it’s usually the day of the week that takes the longest. Not that there’s anything particular terrible that happens on Wednesdays. It’s just the day that seems to go on the longest. Gotta make it up and over that hill and then we can slide back down toward the weekend. “Step by step, you climb the mountain,” such as it were. But when climbing mountains, you need to bring along provisions. In this case, it’s bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: New Cross-Shaped Clear Bases Available From Sally 4th, Dog Centaur Minis Available From Punga Miniatures, Wizards and Lizards Paper Minis Available From Okumarts Games, New Space Corsair Mini Available From Brother Vinni, Overrunners Sci-Fi Minis and Vehicles Up On Kickstarter, and Big Fat Panda Running Gaming Protection Components Kickstarter.
Hey everybody! It’s Friday! Woooooo! Gateway to the weekend, you all know how much I love Fridays. Or, more importantly, Friday evenings (not that work’s terrible, but c’mon! It’s not the weekend!). This evening, I’ll be making some white chocolate & macadamia nut cookies for D&D tomorrow. Probably will grab some snacks to take along as well. But, before I get to those bite-sized treats, let’s dig into some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: 28mm Amazons From RBJ Games Up On Kickstarter, New Tank Bundle From Kromlech, Mythexplorers Little: RPG miniatures Coming to Kickstarter Monday, Skull Dice Wooden Dice Set Up On Kickstarter, and Kraken Dice Announces Kickstarter Launch Date.
And we’ve made it to Friday. Woohoo! The weekend looms ahead of us, full of all the potential that it brings. But, before we chow down on all those hard-boiled eggs and kielbasa (at least, that’s what I’ll be having) over the next couple days, let’s snack on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: Miniature Building Authority Running Modern 28mm Truck Kickstarter, Syrinscape and Chaosium Inc. Announce Official Sounds for Call of Cthulhu, Sally 4th Releases New Canal Boats, and New Ruins of Sanctuary Bases Available From Tabletop-Art.
We’re halfway through the week, folks (well, those of us that work Monday-Friday, that is). I hope your week is going along well. For mine, I’ve been coming up with a new character for a D&D game starting up soon. I’ve never made a 5th Edition character before, but I’ve made dozens of them for other editions. So it’s a bit of “this is familiar, but not.” I’m doing my best to not accidentally inject 3rd and 4th edition knowledge into 5th, and make assumptions based on those and thus, screwing things up. But I think I’m getting it. But if I’m going to finish this character up, I need to refresh with some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: Gravetides Fantasy Naval Fleet Up On Kickstarter, New Ogre Chariot From NonsenseMiniatures, Rebel Minis Releases New Viper Models, and Big Crystal Field Bases Now Available From Tabletop-Art.
Byron Townshend is the sculptor for Dark Art Studios. He’s started a new series that you can check out where he shows you how he creates the creatures that eventually go for sale on the site. He’s starting out with Part 1, wherein he shows you how he starts with an armature and works his way up using traditional sculpting techniques with Green Stuff. If you’ve ever had questions about how figures are made, or maybe wanted to start trying it for yourself, you should check this out.
Miniatures gamers know that it can be exciting to get into a new project, but once you dive in and you realize just what all there is to do, it can be hard to power through. Even small-model-count games can seem daunting. So, how do you make it? Well, Dave Taylor has been doing this for longer than many of us, and he’s got some ideas on the subject. He’s collected those and turned them into a book, Armies & Legions & Hordes. That book is up on Kickstarter now.
Well, we finally made it to Friday. Seemed to take its dear, sweet time. I’m certainly ready for the weekend. It’s Board Game Day up at the library tomorrow. I’m gonna try and stop by and see what’s shakin’. I’m also going to be hitting F5 on the FedEx tracking site today as I wait for my package to be delivered. Because that’s just how things are. So, while I try and make sure I don’t totally break my keyboard, let’s get to some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: Kraken Dice Weekend St. Patrick’s Sale Happening Now, New Escher Weapon Sets Available to Order From Forge World, and Free Gipsy Danger added to Pacific Rim Extinction.
The week continues along. It’s been a quick one for me, it seems. Plus, I’m book-ended by some cool new stuff. Monday, I got new Tails of Equestria stuff. By Friday, my latest order from Kraken Dice should be in. So… woo!
But while waiting by the mailbox for my new shinies to come in, I need to snack on some bite-size gaming stories. There’s enough to share, so have a nibble for yourself.
Today on the platter we have: New Releases Available From Advanced Deployment and New Legionary Twin Thunder Gun Available From Kromlech.
Gateway to the weekend. AND! I placed an order for some new dice yesterday. So you know I’m stoked. When dice sets sell out in a matter of minutes, and you manage to get some, it’s a pretty good feeling. Still riding high on that wave today.
Anyway, as I wait for those to come in, I think I’ll snack on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: New Starship Bases Available From Tabletop-Art, Really Useful Star Wars X Wing Storage Available From Sally 4th, and Zangrahel by Ignacio Fernández Ríos Available From Industria Mechanica.
As the week continues along, we get ever-closer back to that beloved weekend. Still have half the week to get through, though. And if we’re gonna make it, we should stock up on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: New Bases Available From Secret Weapon Miniatures, New Classic Movie Minis Available To Order From Sally 4th, Dark Art Studios Announces Devil’s Dungeon II Project, Warsaw Uprising 1944 28mm Figures by Infamous JT Up On Kickstarter, and Legendary Metal Coins Season 3 Live on Kickstarter.
The Isorians love their drone technology. They use it a bit of everywhere. With these new releases for Beyond the Gates of Antares, they’re getting a pair of big drone fliers. But that’s not all. They’ve also got a speeder bike unit rushing to battle. Finally, both the Freeborn and Algoryn forces are getting new sprues.
Woo! Friday! Woo!
My week went by quick. But, being busy, that’ll happen. And there’s certainly been plenty going on. It’ll be nice to have a weekend to decompress. Though there’s also Game Day up at the Milton Library tomorrow. We’ll see if I make it out there.
Also thinking about making another cheesecake, because that’s just where I’m at, culinarily these days.
But, if we’re all gonna have a busy weekend, we should all fill up on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: Kromlech Weekend Promo on Glyphs, 10% Off Forged in Battle at 15mm Skirmish Supplies, and New Bases Available From Kromlech.
It’s Valentine’s Day!
… Ok, enough of that.
It’s Half-Priced Chocolate Eve!
That’s more like it.
But, before we get to those reduced-price bite-sized morsels tomorrow, let’s get you some gaming bite-sized morsels today (for free, of course).
On the platter today we have: Kraken Dice Valentine Day Sale Happening Now, New 28mm WWII Jerrycans from Baueda Wargames, The Game Master System by Dog Might On Kickstarter, and Board Buddies Game-Finder App Up On Kickstarter.
Warlord Games has a whole slew of new releases for Hail Caesar over in their webshop. They’ve got new minis, as well as whole new sets of accessories for you to check out.
Also, please feel free to comment with all your favorite Monty Python and the Holy Grail jokes below. We know you want to.
Hello, Friday, my old friend.
As usual, Friday’s one of my favorite days of the week, busy as it often is. But busy’s good. It’ll make the day go by quick and I can get to the weekend that much faster. Not 100% sure what I’ll get into this weekend. I think I want to make a cheesecake, though. Got a new recipe. We’ll see how it goes. But there’s also a heavy chance for gaming, and if I’m going to be gaming, I should probably fill up on gaming-related stories.
Today on the platter we have: Kromlech Weekend Deal on Dice, Iconic Blue Dice Set Coming This Evening From Kraken Dice, Statuesque Heroic Scale Female Heads – Techno Roiders on sale now at 10% off, Norse Foundry Teams with Elderwood Academy to Launch Mini Metal Dice and Mini Hex Chest on Kickstarter, Brigade Models Releases New 15mm Neo-Soviet Heavy Tank, Ouroboros Miniatures Running CP_New Skin Bust Kickstarter, and Limited Edition Valentine’s Orc Available From Punga Miniatures.
Two ends of the spectrum over on Forge World’s ordering page this week. On one hand, you’ve got the next set of Nazgul figures for The Hobbit. On the other hand, you’ve got doors for Rhinos and Land Raiders for a whole bunch of different Space Marine chapters.
Hello, Friday, my old friend.
This has been the first full-week of the year, methinks. Like, ok, I know that we’re already into February, but I think this might be the only week where I’ve been up and into the office each day. Just been that type of year so far, I suppose. What might help is bulking up on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: The Army Painter Announces New Zombicide: Green Horde Paint Sets, Dice Coins Up On Kickstarter, Muddleflog Paper Miniatures Are Now Available, and New Oval Ancient Machinery Bases Available From Tabletop-Art.
Still working on getting better from this cold. It always seems to take me longer to get back to 100% than it does days that I’m actually feeling sick. It’s like, “Ok, these are the days I’m definitely sick” and then a week of, “I’m hoping this is the last day of this garbage.”
I’m starting to get my appetite back, though. So I’m going to chow down on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today in the platter we have: Treasure Towers Dice Towers Up On Kickstarter, Now available – New Ancestral Ruins bases From Tabletop-Art, Necronomicon Dice Up On Kickstarter, and New Nurgle Trays from Battle Foam: Great Unclean One.
Box sets are handy when you want to get an entire unit of figures at once. But what about when you just need a single figure? Maybe one got lost or busted or you want to customize your forces just a little bit. It can be annoying to have to get a whole box just for a single fig. Thankfully, Black Powder players looking to just get single sprues of French Cavalry are in luck. You can now buy individual frames from Warlord Games.
*coughcoughcough* Ok, so I’m still a bit sick. But having slept for… oh… about 15 hours, give or take, last night, I’m feeling a bit better. Also, my appetite is coming back. So there’s that. As such, I’m not just having soup, I’m also noshing on these bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: New 32mm Infested Bases From Dark Art Miniatures, PeltaPeeps in Mensa Mind Games 2018, New Ancient Oval Bases Available From Micro Art Studio, and Mystery Dice Weekend Sale at Kraken Dice.
It’s a cold and snowy day here over in Atlanta. A thin layer of ice is concealed under a small blanket of snow. As such, it’s “work from home” day for the bear. Atlantans tend to have rather dubious driving skills in ideal conditions. Throw in some ice and snow and it’s not so much a matter of being worried about your own car, it’s everyone else flying in every direction you’ve gotta worry about. So I’ll just sit here and snack on some bite-sized gaming stories from the comfort of my den.
On the platter today we have: Reptilian Overlords Releases Enemy Trooper Heads, Dark Art Studios January Sale Happening Now, Daughters of the Orphanage Coming From Raging Heroes, HeresyLab Bringing New Sci-Fi Minis to Kickstarter Soon, and Brigade Models Releases New 15mm Hammer’s Slammers Vehicles.
The weekend is almost upon us! I’m already getting my gaming on today. I’ll be playing some of the Munchkin CCG, as well as perhaps some of the Fallout board game. That’s before I go over to a friend’s place tomorrow to deliver some late Christmas presents (ok, really late)… they’re games. So hopefully we’ll play them some. But if I’m going to be doing all this gaming, I should be well-fed. Good thing I’ve got some gaming stories to nosh on. Including cotton candy dice. Yes, I ordered these dice this morning. #NoSuchThingAsTooManyDice
Today on the platter we have: Cotton Candy Dice Available From Kraken Dice, Goblin Factory Releases New Goblins, and Magnetic Days – 25% DISCOUNT On Magnetic Gear At Tabletop-Art.
A couple weeks ago, I went through my (rather neglected) paint collection, resuscitating those that I could, and tossing out those that were dried solid. I have been meaning to start painting again. Just need to find time to do it. I know my skills will be rusty, but maybe by reading through Figure Painter Magazine Issue 47, I can get a jump-start back to making my models presentable. You can get your copy as well, as it’s available now.
Well, the blustery weather from yesterday is gone. Now it’s just cold. Hopefully the storm didn’t hit you all too bad. I’ve got various friends up north that are dealing with the aftermath, but it’s all not too terribly bad stuff. Though I doubt many are going to be heading to the LGS. Well, they can still stay in and game. And while gaming, they can snack on these bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: New Flying Stands Available From Warlord Games, Acolyte Miniatures Previews New Cleric Robert de Foresta Mini, New Kill Team Special Weapons Packs Available From Victoria Miniatures, Tabletop-Art Previews Heart-Blood Sucking Vampire, and Brigade Models Release New British Aeronef.
Gee. Halfway through the week already? It’s just flying on by. But such is the case, apparently. Man, maybe the whole year will go by this quick.
What? It’s 2145 already? … oh, wait, no it’s not. Damn. I guess we’ll just munch on these bite-sized gaming stories as we wait for 2145 to get here.
Today on the platter we have: Secret Weapon Miniatures Previews New Bases, New Mousepad Dice Trays From Deep-Cut Studio, and New Orc Banner Bearer Available From Kromlech.
Hey everyone! We’ve made it to another Friday! Hopefully your week is going well. As we get nearer to the end of the year, mine’s getting busier and busier. Articles, proofing projects, just all sorts of things to work on. It’s going to be a busy holiday. But it’s alright.
Anyway, let’s get to today’s tasty, bite-sized gaming stories.
On the platter today we have: Khurasan Releases Biblical Barbarian Foot Guards, ESLO Terrain Running 3D Printable Bases Kickstarter, and Hero of Nord Mini Available From Brother Vinni.
Apocalypse! Armageddon! The End of Times!
Yes, it’s lightly snowing here in Atlanta.
… Ok, so it’s kinda hard to see in that photo, but it’s actually picked up a bit more here.
So, while we prepare our milk sandwiches with bleach, we can also nibble on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: New Legionary Sentry Gun Battery Bundle From Kromlech, Rebel Minis Release Screecher Bug and Robot Gan, Woodland bases 30mm RL and 40mm RL Available From Tabletop-Art, and New Medusa Miniature Available From Brother Vinni.
A cold wind is blowing here in Atlanta. Yes, I know many of you are much colder than we are here, but it was also almost 70F out yesterday. Today it’ll be closer to 45F. Definitely glad that, earlier this week, I got out my extra blankets that were buried in my closet. So those’ll be nice. What’ll also be nice is snacking on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: The 12 Days of Reaper Is Now Live, Puppets War Head Sale Happening Now, Oddzial Osmy’s 3mm November Releases Arrive at PicoArmor, RBJ Game Company Running S.T.A.R. Troopers 3 Kickstarter, Khurasan releases more 15mm Kushans/Indians, and BoxThrone Modular Board Game Shelving System Up On Kickstarter.
Well, the Scorpions are red (and I don’t mean to say that the classic metal band is communist), so that’s kinda Christmas-y. Anyway, even if it doesn’t really tie in with the holiday season (not like every story this month needs to), if you’re looking for Red Scorpions items for your 40k armies, now’s the time to head over to Forge World, as they’ve got some new characters, a new dreadnaught, and some item kits to help you build the army you want.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve still got tons of leftovers from Thanksgiving. That was by design, mind you, and the original intent behind Thanksgiving 2: Thank Harder that I had last Friday. And no, I’m not getting tired of turkey and all the trimmings. However, it wouldn’t hurt to nibble on something different for a moment. That’s why we’ve got a whole bunch of bite-sized gaming stories for you to snack on.
Today on the platter we have: New Releases Available From Klukva Miniatures, New Statuesque Female Heads – Angry Bobs on sale now, New fantasy characters and Goblin Horde in stock from Aenor Miniatures, Creatures of the Night: Wrath of Cichol Fantasy Minis Up On Kickstarter, and 3rd Rumble in the Jungle – an event report by The Painting Frog.
Continuing the theme, in a way, it’s Friday, since it’s the last workday of the week. But it’s actually Wednesday. Thankfully, either way, we’d be having a Snippets post. So, before we all chow down on all that delicious food tomorrow, let’s tide ourselves over with some bite-sized gaming stories now.
On the platter we have: More Ancient Machinery Bases Available from Tabletop-Art, New Guild Ball Tokens and More Available From Advanced Deployment, Brigade Models Christmas Sale Happening Now, November Releases Available From Stoessi’s Heroes, New Bunnies Minis Available From Brother Vinni, Aeon Trespass: Nymphs Boutique Minis Up On Kickstarter, Grimlight: Tiny magnet-controlled lights for miniatures up On Kickstarter, Khurasan releases 6mm Federal Army infantry, Bits of War Black Friday Sale Coming This Weekend, and Micro Art Studio Black Friday Sale Happening Tomorrow.
Fridaaaaaaaaay! And a Friday off, to boot! Yes, I know, I’m technically off of work but I’m still typing up posts. That’s because I love you all thaaaaat much! Who do I also love? Our Veterans. The reason we have today off is because it’s Veteran’s Day here in the States. My dad’s a veteran, as are many of my friends, and I thank them for their service. So, before I log off and spend a day just chilling, let’s nom on a quick bite-sized gaming story.
Today on the platter we have: New Cobblestone Bases Available from Tabletop-Art.
Here we are, once more at the threshold to the weekend. I know I’m ready for it. It’s been a busy week with a lot of work going on here at the office. I could use a day of just hanging out and playing with my toy soldiers with some good friends. At least, that’s the plan for tomorrow. In the meantime, it’s time to fill up on some bite-sized gaming stories.
On the platter today we have: Gundabad Orc Upgrade Set Available To Order from Forge World, Early Achaemenid Persian Immortals Available From Xyston Miniatures, More Really Useful Box Storage Items Available From Sally 4th, and New Iron Reich Warchief Available From Kromlech.
We’re halfway there, everyone. The work-week is half-done and it’s getting ever-closer to the weekend. Of course, I’m excited for that. I’m hoping to get in some gaming up at the LGS. Trying to get a whole group together for some Guild Ball. Also starting to make Thanksgiving plans, because that’s a thing I do. Speaking of bite-sized goodies, let’s dig into our regular fare of bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: Dragon Bagons Dice Bags Up On Kickstarter, Sylvan Gamer’s Box Up On Kickstarter, Orc Chirurgeon on bike Available From Kromlech, RBJ Games Running Skeletons Kickstarter, New Ancestral Ruins Bases Available From Tabletop-Art, Magic Item Card Catalog: 5e Fantasy Reference Cards Up On Kickstarter, and WWII German Gebirgsjaeger Available from Askari Miniatures.
Man, space-janitors have all the cool gear. There’s a new laser cannon available for the Legio Custodes’ dreadnaughts over in the Forge World webshop. Oh how helpful that’d be after a football game… Also available to order is the huge Tau Tiger Shark. Having a problem with enemy titans? This’ll help.
