I was born and raised in Chicago. But back when I was a little kid, Lake Geneva was just "that resort town that family would always vacation at during the summer." If only I knew then that it was the home of the great Gary Gygax. Someday, I hope to make it out to Essen. I would really love that. I've been to Gen Con, but from what I hear Essen is all that and then some. But the drive from Atlanta is kinda rough.
