CMON and Sony are teaming up to bring you God of War: The Card Game. Players take on the role of characters from the classic video game as they work to stop Ragnarok. The game utilizes a mosaic of cards that create a sort of "board" that players will be fighting on, moving to different columns to attack different sections. As pieces are defeated, the cards are flipped. Players' deck of attack and defense cards grow and change as they adventure. If they can complete 3 quests, they are able to stop the end of everything.

Fantasy Flight Previews Hero Progression in Journeys in Middle-earth

Characters at the start of the story will (hopefully) have changed by the end of the story. They go through a whole arc, growing as they learn more about themselves and the world around them. The characters in the Lord of the Rings certainly do. And that's transferred to Journeys in Middle-earth, the upcoming board game from Fantasy Flight. In this preview, we get a look at how that will work within the game.

Solomon Grundy wants pants too!

Protecting the Future Character Class Book Available for Ponyfinder

Soldiers. They've sworn their lives to uphold the honor, integrity, and borders of their nation. It's not a role one takes on easily. That holds true in the world of Ponyfinder, too. This new book from Silver Games contains a new class, the Soldier, written to be compatible with both Pathfinder and 5th Edition. It also takes a look at running a game from a soldier's point of view, that is someone with ties to a specific country, rather than just "murder hobos."

Fantasy Flight Games Announces Spark of Hope Expansion for Star Wars: Destiny

A new set of cards for Star Wars: Destiny has been announced. It's called Spark of Hope, and while I'm sure people will be excited about many of the new cards and dice that will be coming, all I can see is that there's Grand Admiral Thrawn. And, like so many, I'm a huge Thrawn fanboy. So that's really what I'm singly focused and excited about.

Z-Man Games has announced a new Choose Your Own Adventure book called War With the Evil Power Master! And if you can't tell from the title, it's supposed to be a bit scholcky and play on old, nostaligic sci-fi tropes.

New Dwarf Slayers and Chaos Marines Available to Order from Games Workshop

It's a little bit fantasy. It's a little bit sci-fi over at Games Workshop this week for their new releases. The bigger of the two in terms of scale is a new Battletome for Age of Sigmar. It's the Fyreslayers, dwarves with fire-orange hair and beards that don't like the idea of shirts. There's also new figures to go along with the release. But GW is still working on more Chaos Marine releases as well, if you were also hoping to keep adding to your collection there.
