As a former history student, I loved learning about all the great buildings that used to exist all over the world, particularly in the Mediterranean. The various civilizations that were in and around that body of water had a passion for building and let it show. And while many of them have been lost to the ravages of wind and wave, the tales of their grand hallways, soaring ceilings, and massive columns continues on. And it's just that sort of majesty you'll be able to bring to your games of Cyclades with their upcoming Monuments expansion.
In the Monuments expansion, you get 10 new buildings that you can use to populate your cities. However, these aren't just new buildings to add along with your universities and academies and such. They are, of sorts, a combination of two buildings. For example, if you build two fortresses, you can turn them into The Great Citadel of Ares, giving you extra bonuses above and beyond the fortresses. Other buildings include the Great Lighthouse of Poseidon, the University of Athena, and a Military Academy.
You can expect Cyclades: Monuments to hit store shelves in the 4th quarter of this year.
