Ashes – Dark Side of the Moon is a sci-fi minis combat game that’s looking for funding over on Kickstarter.
But the sun is eclipsed by the moon.

From the campaign:

In the Ashes, you will play as a battlefield commander. You can follow your own style to organize troop according to the score rule and conduct a fair contest with your opponent. A standard configuration 1 VS 1 battle will bring you 1-2 hours of intense battle. By adding more players or more troops, the battle will be more thrilling and long lasting.

I was born at a very young age. I plan on living forever. So far, so good.
  • I am left with a lot of ? after checking out this kickstarter.

As far as I can tell the models are all laser-cut cardboard. In the “risks and challenges” there is talk about moldmaking and more cavities with higher funding. Molds for what exactly?

If it’s all laser-cut card, why is it priced at £100 for a standard game? Way too much.

I don’t really understand the gameplay at all. A video would be nice.

The creator/project is also located in China, I would beware.

Yeah, the concepts look interesting enough, but the presentation overall is extremely poorly put together

  • It’s a BETA they are selling:

“Ashes – dark side of the moon beta has a very reasonable price. and those units can still be used after the launch of the official version. After buying Ashes – dark side of the moon beta ,giving us as much feedback as possible will be really helpful for us to improve the existing design and rules so that we can develop more and better units to present to you.”

Oh, and I thought it was a bit much before, but now I know £100 is a very reasonable price to playtest a beta and work out the kinks in their model designs. It’s really helpful for them. Now I’m sold! 😀

Pay us to be a beta tester! Was this game designed by Bill Gates by any chance?

    Wow… just wow

  • I couldn’t even read the thing…

It looks nice, and I love the idea of a Sci-Fi game that looks like it might (?) play something like the Command and Colors system or Art of Tactics, but I have to pass as well. The price is too steep and the project is too unclear. Maybe if their ‘beta’ succeeds, the actual game might be worth getting.

I do like the look of the models…

I wonder wonder who came up them?
