Taking a short break from all the Gen Con announcements to bring you an announcement about giant, fighting robots (I dig giant robots). Armored Core, based on the popular video game, puts players in control of a mech or group of mechs in combat against their enemies. Only the strong will survive in this real-time game, where rounds are a quick 20min.
The game uses some rather interesting mechanics, such as the real-time gameplay, making the action fast a furious. Along with that, the ages-old question of line of sight is also dealt with, using LED-lit pointers right in the base of the minis. So you'll know exactly what you can and can't see in this 3D cityscape. Between rounds, upgrade your mechs with new gear to fit your personal playstyle, and the role that the mech plays in your team.
The Kickstarter campaign is up and running now. They're doing rather well, with more than 3x their initial goal with still 17 days left on the clock.
