Many heroes have come and gone over the ages. They are bright, shining points in the darkness, but they fade out. Well, when the darkness rallies and looks to engulf everything, many lights must be used. Heroes must be brought back from the dead in order to turn the tide and make sure that good and light prevail. Such is the story in Sword & Sorcery, a new cooperative board game by Gremlin Project and Ares Games.
In the game, 1-5 players fight as heroes brought back to life by powerful sorcery. However, you know you're not at your best right when you wake up, so though the power is certainly there within them, it takes a bit to "boot back up." As such, you must send your heroes on quests in order to build back up their strength. If you've played Galaxy Defenders, you might recognize some game elements, since Sword & Sorcery is created by the same people. They feel that the new system is the "refined version" of their older system.
The game will be coming to Kickstarter in September and will be released in the second half of 2016.
