Aquilus Weird-Fantasy RPG Zine Issue 3 Up On Kickstarter

I mean, some pretty weird stuff happens in my RPG sessions, but if you’re wanting to make things go entirely gonzo, you might want to check out Aquilus. The third issue of this weird-fantasy zine is up on Kickstarter now.

From the campaign:

Welcome to Aquilus Issue #3, a role-playing game zine that combines elements of weird fantasy and old-school gaming. This issue offers a wealth of resources to make your gaming sessions even weirder. Within its pages, you’ll find a range of fantasy concepts sure to push the boundaries of your imagination.

Weird-fantasy is a subgenre of fantasy that incorporates elements from fantasy, science fiction, horror, and post-apocalyptic. It is characterized by the convergence of different speculative fiction elements, creating a unique and often unsettling blend of fantasy and other genres. The result is a repository of strange and imaginative concepts that defy easy classification and challenge the boundaries of traditional fantasy.

Aquilus draws inspiration from the artistic visions of some of fantasy literature’s greatest writers – including Clark Ashton Smith, Jack Vance, Lord Dunsany, and the entire Dying Earth genre of science fiction.

Weird-fantasy beckons the reader to explore a world filled with forbidden temples, secretive cults, and otherworldly beings. Exotic architectures and bizarre creatures fill the landscape, alongside strange technologies and enigmatic organizations. Time itself seems to be a mystery in this realm, as it is unclear whether the events unfold in the distant past or far-flung future.

Weird-fantasy is ‘fantasy’ without limits.

The campaign’s over 4x funded with 23 days left to go.
