Since gaming is my day job, I find myself considering my "hobbies" to be stuff other than gaming. As many of you know, I like to cook. I love trying out new recipes when I find them (and can get the proper groceries. My local megamart is kinda lame). Though I can't say that I've ever come across the recipe for Destiny. Divinity, maybe, but not Destiny. Well, now I guess I can go on a quest for it in Alkemia: Destiny's Recipe, a new board game that's up on Kickstarter now.
So, you're not actually playing as a chef. You're an alchemist. And you're not trying to create Destiny. You're trying to create the Crest of Creation. The game's part resource management, part item synthesizing. There's a modular board, so no two games have to be the same, especially with the draft-style field creation. The game is part cooperative, part competitive, but only one character will be first to make the Crest of Creation.
The campaign just got underway and is set to run for another 29 days.
