In what should not come as a surprise to anyone, I love donuts.
But then again, who really doesn’t?
People see donuts. People want to eat donuts.
But with all the “no-carb, no-gluten, no-taste, no-shadow” diets out there, there’s more donuts sitting on the shelf than being stuffed into mouths (for others, anyway. I gotta maintain my 110 stone physique somehow). So bakers are getting desperate and putting their donuts into underground fighting rings (get it? Rings? Donuts? … Oh never mind). That’s the story behind A Bad Day for Donuts, a new board game that’s up on Kickstarter now.
In the game, players are bakers who are creating fighting donuts for the Underground Donut-Fighting Circuit. Each donut they create is worth a certain number of points. When a donut is defeated, the one that did the defeating gains those points. Players are looking to get a baker’s dozen worth of points (that’s 13, if you didn’t know). You must maneuver your donuts around the board, fighting one-another to the death (to the crumb?). But watch out for Today’s Special cards, which can really give things a twist.
The game is up on Kickstarter now, with the campaign set to run for another 30 days.
