In what should not come as a surprise to anyone, I love donuts.
But then again, who really doesn't?
People see donuts. People want to eat donuts.
But with all the "no-carb, no-gluten, no-taste, no-shadow" diets out there, there's more donuts sitting on the shelf than being stuffed into mouths (for others, anyway. I gotta maintain my 110 stone physique somehow). So bakers are getting desperate and putting their donuts into underground fighting rings (get it? Rings? Donuts? ... Oh never mind). That's the story behind A Bad Day for Donuts, a new board game that's up on Kickstarter now.
In the game, players are bakers who are creating fighting donuts for the Underground Donut-Fighting Circuit. Each donut they create is worth a certain number of points. When a donut is defeated, the one that did the defeating gains those points. Players are looking to get a baker's dozen worth of points (that's 13, if you didn't know). You must maneuver your donuts around the board, fighting one-another to the death (to the crumb?). But watch out for Today's Special cards, which can really give things a twist.
The game is up on Kickstarter now, with the campaign set to run for another 30 days.
