USAopoly Expanding Star Wars Reach to Europe, Middle East, and Africa

It might be called USAopoly, but that doesn't mean that the States are the only place that they sell games (or that they only sell Monopoly variants). In this particular instance, they are announcing that they've entered an agreement with Disney to sell Star Wars games in European, Middle Eastern, and African markets. So, while their company name might be entirely a lie in this instance, that's a good thing.

From the announcement:

USAopoly® (The OP), the board game and puzzle publisher behind the best-selling party games Telestrations® and Blank Slate™, and Disney Consumer Products UK today announced plans to develop new Star Wars™ themed games for the European, Middle Eastern and African (EMEA) regions. The initial Star Wars™ lineup will feature a light strategy tabletop game.

Star Wars has an unparalleled ability to connect people from different generations, cultures and backgrounds, which is an important value shared by USAopoly,” said Candace Brenner, Vice President of Marketing for USAopoly. “Whether we stood in line for the debut motion picture or watched the television series with our children, Star Wars has had a significant impact on many of us here at USAopoly. We are thrilled to be partnering with Disney Consumer Products to create another avenue where rebels, Jedi and fans alike can come together to enjoy the vast universe.”

USAopoly has partnered with Disney on numerous products over the last 15 years, including Codenames: Disney Family EditionMunchkin®: Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Edition and Disney Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: A Gemstone Mining Game. The new agreement grants USAopoly international distribution rights to some of their most popular titles from their current portfolio of over 70 Disney-licensed products as well as select unannounced upcoming games.
