The world has been torn asunder. Giant cracks form in the ground after the rituals and offerings to the gods ceased. Now, mankind has to fight back against the encroaching hordes. That's the story behind Turris, a new competitive worker placement game that's up on Kickstarter now. Build your tower and offer your sacrifices back to the gods.
From the campaign:
Welcome to the world of Turris. Exiled from a once glorious city, tribes of scavengers are all that remains of a scientifically advanced humanity.
As the regular offering to the gods was delayed, the ground split open and vile Beasts arose from the Abyss, relentlessly attacking everyone in their path. Driven out of their home and left for dead in the harsh desert, the people have lost all hope, until an unexpected discovery was made.
As leaders of the tribes, you must build the Tower as a final defense mechanism using ancient technology, all while competing for prestige points to determine who will lead the remnants of humanity once the task is complete.
Turris is a competitive worker placement board game. In Turris you are attempting to complete missions set by the Council of tribes that leads humanity in these dire times. At the end of every turn, if you have collected sufficient resources (you can use artifacts as a wild resource) you may complete a mission. If you have completed enough missions, you earn the right to build a Tower room — represented by Trionfi cards. Collectively building enough Tower rooms or reaching a set amount of Prestige Points triggers the endgame.
The campaign's roughly halfway to their goal with 26 days left to go.
