We take for granted just how easy it is to get from place to place these days. Hop in your car, climb aboard a bus, take a train, get in an airplane. Whatever you choose, this rather safe mode of transport is there for you. Most trips are pretty uneventful. But back in your medieval fantasy games, travelling was a bit more prone to encounters. And that's just what we've got in Traveling Encounters Volume 1, a set of encounters for Dungeons & Dragons that's up on Kickstarter now.
From the campaign:
One thing we can all agree on as DMs, is that the more time invested in planning your session, the more fun everyone is going to have. Published adventure modules have hundreds of man-hours invested into them; crafting an adventure, the npcs, the treasure and so on. My problem is that I’m a compulsively creative person. I’m an artist and an author and a nerd. I love DMing BECAUSE of the freedom to invent my own adventures. So yeah, it is a huge investment of time BUT I’m at a stage of life now where that’s okay. I’m passionate about it and, as you know, when you pursue your passions, that’s when you will create the most amazing things in your life.
The campaign's about 1/3 of the way to its goal with 27 days left to go.
