Who wants to live forever?
I mean, I do. I don't know about y'all. As such, I'm out there hunting for those Immortality potions. Gotta find three to get the right dosage. But I know some of you others might be gunning for them as well. And, even without that, we gotta get through this dungeon to find them. Who will come out alive forever in the end? That's the question in Potion 21, a new card game that's up on Kickstarter now.
From the campaign:
Transform into monsters, shoot fireballs, turn invisible, and use x-ray vision to make it to the end of the dungeon and find the legendary immortality potion in this portable 2-4 player card game.
POTION 21 combines roguelike elements such as randomly generated dungeons and permadeath with a game everyone already knows: blackjack, making it a great entry-level tabletop game.
Each round consists of constructing a dungeon and getting as far as you can without overdosing on potions (the equivalent of "busting" in blackjack) or being killed by monsters (the equivalent of having a lower score than the dealer).
As the game progresses you get better potions and raise your starting power, but when you die you lose everything and start the whole game over.
There are 21 different potion cards in the game so you’ll be faced with unique choices each time you play.
Just like in blackjack you cannot do anything to affect other players, so no ganging up on the leading player.
The first player to collect 3 immortality potions win the game!
The campaign is up and running now. It's set to go for another 26 days.
