Tuesday. The work week's properly underway. I hope you weren't stumbling at the starting line and we can get through this relatively unscathed (not that the week's shaping up to be anything scary, but you never know). I've got D&D coming up again this week. We didn't have session 2 weeks ago because of Dragon*Con. So, I'm more than ready to get a game session in.
However, in the meantime, to speed the week along, let's listen to some gaming podcasts.
This week, on the dial we have: Morrus' Unofficial Tabletop RPG Talk Episode 64: Shadowrun Sixth World Edition Review with Darryl Mott; Geeks of the North Episode 84: Fall ramble; Singled Out Episode 95: Winning British Nationals 2019 with Coomber; The Secret Cabal Episode 190: Cthulhu A Deck Building Game, Root and Approachability in Board Games; Tabletop Talk Episode 38: Brewmaster (Bayou) Deep Dive with Roman and John; Game Classy Episode 195: Tyranid Bone Boys; and Blue Peg, Pink Peg Episode 154: Dead Man’s Cabal.
This week, Morrus and Peter are joined by Your Editor Darryl, Darryl Mott from Gamer’s Tavern, to talk about the new Shadowrun Sixth World Core Rulebook and how the new edition has changed. In the news, the origins of Dungeons & Dragons, a preview of a new Pathfinder 2nd Edition ancestry and the Bestiary 2 cover revealed, vote on your favorite D&D monster, and more! Plus Our Favorite Game in All the World and a brand new sketch!
This week, we have a post event and holiday show, so no main topic and a lot of rambling hobby chat. We also talk about the Zhontain’s Juice Bar for Anyaral, the Wightwood Abbey RPG setting by Infinite Dimensions, and the 3d print files for Antoine's Casanii dwelling produced by Rogue Sculpts.
So sit back, relax, grab a paintbrush and enjoy the show!
In this episode Andrew and Bryce talk to Coomber about how we won the British Nationals 2019 with Brewers, how he picked his 12 player team and how the guild fits into the meta.
Today we explode into the episode covering a bunch of leftover games from our Gen Con trip! Then we jump feet first into Cthulhu: A Deck Building Game and the standalone expansion, Cthulhu: Horrors in Dunwich by Wyvern Gaming and Look back at one of the best games from last year, Root from Leder Games. Tony T, as always, gives the Cabalists the best damned tabletop gaming news segment in the history of gaming. And finally the gang leaves you with a roundtable discussion about Approachability in board gaming.
Join Craig as his guests (Roman Hechenberger and John Fox) reveal why Bayou players are bringing Brewmaster to the table for Malifaux 3rd edition. They go in-depth on how to maximize the crew's effectiveness along with how to make an effective crew and which pools are ideal. For those that play against Bayou - pay close attention or you'll just get drunk and go home with a loss.
