Just about anyone that's done any amount of writing out there knows what it's like looking back on old work and going, "... I've come a long way. I could do so much better now." Well, that happens with game-makers, too. They see new and better ways to word rules and abilities, more straightforward ways to organize things, and have new ideas about different material to add. And that's when you get a new edition of a game, such as with the 3rd edition of OpenQuest that's up on Kickstarter now.
From the campaign:
OpenQuest is a straightforward, easy to play D100 role-playing game.
Inspired by the tremendous D100 rulesets put out in the late 1970s and 1980s, OpenQuest uses the Legend SRD as a base and includes innovations from more recent indie RPGs to give it a modern edge.
The first edition of OpenQuest came out in Summer 2009. This version of the game refines and updates the text of the game, making it more straightforward to use than ever before.
The game's a bit over 3x funded with 15 days left to go.
