Every theme park has a bit of an element of danger to them. Roller coasters, slides, bumper cars, everything has the potential to be amazing or harmful (hopefully closer to the amazing side of things). When building a park, unscrupulous designers might even try and cut corners so they can make the most money from their park. Well, that's where you find yourself in Danger Park. Players are collectively building a park, but are each out to try and get the most money they can by trying to get people to go to their rides, sometimes including sabotaging their opponent's attractions. This new game is up on Kickstarter now.
From the campaign:
The easy part: Build a theme park as a team and make as much money as possible.
The hard part: The theme park is a dangerous death trap full of mayhem, negligence, and fraud.
In Danger Park, players take turns placing rides in a collectively-built amusement park. Patrons are placed and move through the park through marked ride exits, and each patron generates money for the owners of the rides. Using the unique abilities of rides and park improvements, players move patrons, block exits, and most importantly, add danger in the form of vomit, pests, flooding, electrical failure, and more in order to influence die rolls. High rolls show satisfaction and keep patrons on rides. Low rolls create additional danger and force patrons out to other rides. Additionally, players can take out insurance policies to benefit from certain poor outcomes, encouraging direct sabotage for profit. When the park finally closes, the player with the most money wins.
Take the biggest risk, snatch the biggest reward, and get away with it in Danger Park!
The campaign's around 3/4 of the way to its goal with 16 days left to go.
