While we usually see new games or minis or terrain up on Kickstarter, occasionally, we'll get a convention looking to raise funds so it can take place. That's what we've got here with Con on the Cob, a 4-day event being held October 1-4 in Richfield, Ohio. If you're in the neighborhood, why not stop by?
From the campaign:
Why, it's the world's most off the cob CELEBRATION OF GAMES, ART, FREAKS, AND FUN, of course! CotC is FOUR DAYS of RPGs, board games, card games, party games, and all sorts of that kind of jazz. It’s also an art fair, with a large selection of talented artists in attendance and an amazing abundance of fantasy, science fiction, horror, amusement park, and geeky art and art activities. Oh, and it’s The Mother of All Marketplaces, with dozens of vendors showcasing a wide variety of jazz, snazz, and zazz, boosting the geekonomy like old school Robin Hoods but without the stealing and the archery (ok, not like Robin Hoods. I failed analogy class in Kindergarten). Don’t forget the parties…Did I mention the parties? Also there are other things, like amazing special Guests, the Children of the Cob, the Nerdcore Explosion!, a Drag Show, Karaoke, a super sweet Auction, Food Trucks, a Games Library, free snacks in the Con Suite, Panels, Workshops, and Demos, a whole track of Cosplay and Fandom related activities, Tabletop Crafting and Miniatures events, and a massive horde of potential friends and peeps who dig the same things you dig! Also, new for 2020 and in keeping with our Haunted Amusement Park theme, an entire slew of Roller Coaster and Theme Park guests, panels, and activities!
The campaign's more than 10x funded (being fair, they weren't asking for a ton to begin with) and has 8 days left to go.
