You ever put your hand down on something, not realizing there's a bug on top of it? You feel the sudden squirming under your palm and you jump? Now, think if pretty much everything was like that. In the world of Children of the Beast, a strange corruption is infecting everything, turning it into living, moving creatures. That's the setting you find yourself in. Creepy, right? The game's up on Kickstarter now.
From the campaign:
A tabletop roleplaying game set in a living world where mountains walk the earth and the moon crawls across the sky
Ten years ago a disease began to spread. It twisted the bodies of the infected, making them sprout limbs and eyes from every orifice. But some were immune, and they became the most feared of all.
You play as occult beast hunters trying to stop a spreading corruption. Each of you is inflicted with the Hunter’s Blood, a condition that not only makes you immune to the transformative effects of the corruption but allows you to control it.
Explore the evolving wilds of the Warrens, a place where you can find strange landscapes of gurgling meat and discover cultures of sentient slime. Uncover the world’s secrets as you hunt the infected beasts of the Warrens and search for the source of the corruption.
Children of the Beast is a game you can immediately pick up and play because of our included sandbox adventure. It is structured similarly to an interactive fiction game, allowing you to get started without any prep. Also, to make things even smoother we're developing a free companion app for Android devices which hosts the adventure and streamlines the overall rpg experience (Although, neither the game nor the adventure require the app to play!).
The campaign is up and running now. It's set to go for another 23 days.
