Character Collections For The Fantasy Trip RPG Up On Kickstarter

The Fantasy Trip, Steve Jackson Games' fantasy RPG, recently came back onto the scene. So, GMs in the game are probably on the lookout for new content to add to their games. That's where Gaming Ballistic comes in. They've got a Kickstarter campaign running for Character Collections, a bunch of NPCs ready to drop right into your games.

From the campaign:

Your session of The Fantasy Trip is in full swing.

Tired and starving, you have nearly reached your goal: You're ready to rescue the dragon and defeat the vile prince. Suddenly, it's time for a fight! The player-characters are ambushed by "2d bandits, of 30-33 points."

Stop playing while you make 2-12 opponents? Perhaps make a single bandit, and the players wind up fighting a half-dozen identical foes?

The first disrupts the flow of the evening; the second is unsatisfying: People aren't clones.

That's why the Character Collections exist.

Ready-to-play characters built as individuals: Each has a brief story, describing something of their past, their motivations, or salient details that make them individuals. They're not all combat monsters: Some must resort to duplicity, cunning, seduction, and guile to get by. Others are more "Thog smash!" and prefer to handle things with something blunt and heavy.

The campaign is up and over its funding goal with 15 days left to go.
