As far as I'm concerned, Bards = Best Class. So a card game all about bards trying to be the best they can be certainly has my attention. You can go check out Battle of the Bards, up on Kickstarter now. \m/
... I kinda want the badger as a tattoo now...
From the campaign:
Battle of the Bards is a competitive 2-4 player dice rolling game with aspects of deck-building. Throughout the game players manage a troupe of bards trying to capture the audiences that have arrived in Noonshade keep for the annual performance competition. The main focus of Battle of the Bards is rolling tons of dice. You'll be rolling around five to eleven (or more) dice a round. Due to the game's design you are not completely controlled by dice rolls however, since there are many different ways you can use your dice. Even 'bad rolls' can be turned around, rerolled, or just flat-out changed. Each round, every player will have four bards in their hand, choosing three of them to take the stage. These three bards will provide the player with additional dice, and will have a large variety of special abilities that can be used in many strategic ways. Players will also create performances, reroll dice, capture audiences and hire (and fire) bards in their troupe. Each captured audience provides victory points, and at the end of the game an Encore round will be played to finish the Battle of the Bards competition. The tactics of Battle of the Bards centers on using the dice you rolled in different ways to propel your bard troupe forward in a sort of puzzle, just for you, that changes drastically from round to round. Now on Kickstarter, Join us in adventure and capture your audience!
The campaign's about 2/3 of the way to its goal with still 28 days left to go.
