In this court, the cards are king and queen. Arcana Palace is an RPG that puts you into the realm of the court, always full of intrigue. To navigate through, the cards are your ally. Use your tarot deck to defeat opponents. The game is up on Kickstarter now.
From the campaign:
Archana Palace is a game about using the magic and power of archetypes, as expressed in the tarot, to tell courtly stories. You will compete with other players at court to win favor, injure rivals, and bring your own plots to fruition.
It is a GM-less RPG, where each player plays a very connected person in a court, able to clearly see the way current events will unfold, if they don't interfere.
But what does that mean?
The game itself is, in a nutshell, competitive tarot reading. each player has a hand of cards that they want to place in the tableau, changing the course of events that their characters see so clearly. They do this by getting support from other players to overcome players who resist the change.
The text isn't very long, all told, about 16 pages, though that may change before shipping it out.
The campaign is up and running now with 8 days left to go.
