Doing a double-flip off the top turnbuckle down onto your opponent in the middle of the ring. Giving them the Polar's Elbow. Grabbing yourself a steel chair. These are all things you can do in World Wide Wrestling, the RPG all about the action in the squared circle. A new edition of the game is up on Kickstarter now.
From the campaign:
The thunder of the pyro... the roar of the crowd... the ring of the bell... it's time for World Wide Wrestling!
The World Wide Wrestling RPG was originally published in 2015, and it’s been amazing to hear all of the exciting stories from players as they’ve clashed in the ring, played out incredible feuds and delighted fans from right here in your town to the farthest reaches of Parts Unknown. The time has come to put all of these lessons learned to good use! World Wide Wrestling: Second Edition combines all of the material from:
- The original World Wide Wrestling RPG
- The International Incident supplement
- The digital supplements, including The Road and the Extended Universe Gimmicks
- and more!
... into one streamlined, updated game that supports both quickly getting to the action and long-term dynamic exploration of the promotion around the wrestlers.
World Wide Wrestling: Second Edition has the same mission statement as ever: to enable you to create your own professional wrestling promotion through play, showcasing satisfying and surprising storylines. It’s about feuds, championships, betrayal, and righteous victory. It’s about the clash of good and evil on the grandest stage. It’s about whether you’ve got what it takes. And, in the end, it’s about what the audience thinks of your efforts.
In World Wide Wrestling, you play wrestlers competing in the ring for both the adulation of the crowd and to improve your standing in the promotion. This game is about wrestling as a performance with pre-determined endings, telling stories of larger-than-life primordial conflict to the viewing audience. Your character is a professional who has a wrestling personae they play up for the crowd; in the ring, you have partners and rivals among the other wrestlers, but when the cameras are off, you may have very different conflicts and relationships with your coworkers.
The campaign's making its way towards 3x funded with 27 days left to go.
