Year 2018

Ah, gay Paris. What a wonderful city. The city of lights. Romance, art, architecture. It's all there. And you can go there in Nocturne in the City of Lights, a new adventure for Space 1889 from Modiphius (hey, just because you can go into space doesn't mean there's nothing left to do on the Earth, after all).

As I'm sure you know by now, Gen Con is right around the corner. Every company out there is putting up a preview of what they'll be showing off at their booths, and Pandasaurus is no different. Want to check out The Mind that everyone's talking about? How about Dinosaur Island? They'll have those and a whole ton more.

The folks over at Battlefront are taking a whole bunch of new pre-orders for Flames of War. They've got the Enemy at the Gates and Iron Cross products over on their website, and if you want to get them as soon as they're available, being the first gamer on your block with them, you'll want to head over now and put your name down on the list. They've also got a list of all the releases coming out for the next couple months that you can check out.

You can't really just grab any suit of armor, start wearing it, and expect to be able to just do all the things you regularly do unless you've been trained in its use. You're not going to be as mobile, as flexible, or nearly as well protected unless you work with that armor. In the new Starfinder Armory, there's new character options that show when you've really put in the time and effort to learn just how armor works, and that's what we get a preview of here.

Less than a week away. Gen Con is less than a week away. This weekend's the last one before the show. Still tons of planning and prep to do. For you, that includes figuring out what booths you want to visit. Well, to help out, IDW Games has posted up what sort of things they plan on having at the show.

It's coming up to the end of the month. July will soon be gone. But that doesn't mean that there's no time left for July releases. In fact, Corvus Belli has just posted up their July releases for Infinity. Go on and check them out.

You've fought zombies in the malls. You've fought them in the morgues. You've fought them in the prisons. You've fought them in castles. You've fought them in hedgerows. You'll soon be fighting them in space. But this new Zombicide lets you fight zombies in an all-new way. CMON has announced a new Zombicide Role-Playing Game.

The Middle East has a rich history that stretches back thousands of years. And, of course, there's all sorts of myths and tales that have been created throughout that time. Capharnaum - The Tales of the Dragon-Marked sets you into that mystic land and time and lets you run around, dealing with thieves, finding genies, and getting you fitted for your own flying carpet. Print copies are available for pre-order now from Modiphius.

Ninja Division decided to take the figures from Ninja All-Stars and bring them into the Super Dungeon Explore world. With all the different clans, that was going to take some time. Well, the next one is ready to hit the field. It's Clan Tanchyo, and there's several extra heroes to pick up as well.

The Virai are the latest faction for Beyond the Gates of Antares. So they've got a little catching-up to do in terms of unit numbers. Warlord Games is looking to fix that, as there's several new sets you can order from them now. Gotta pump up those numbers. Those are bio numbers.

In every Minor Guild, there's two players that can work with the Major Guild the team's tied to. Fathom is one of the two for the Navigator's Guild, being able to play up to the Fisherman's Guild, my personal favorite Guild. On that team, Angel is one of my favorite players, and almost always hits the pitch when I play. So, when I see that Fathom works very well with Angel, I'm like, "yes. This is a thing that pleases me." Check out all she can do in this new preview.

You know, I see a lot of "Gen Con Preview" posts, but I think this one has taken the prize so far for most items in it. Plaid Hat Games is not going to be messing around when they hit Indy next week. They've got all sorts of new games ready to show off to you, the eager and excited public. I suggest you take a look-see here, and then again when you make it to the show.

A week from now, Gen Con will have started (well, even really, before then, since there's Wednesday night stuff nowadays). How horrifying is that (for all of you that have tons yet to do before the show)? For those that are excited to see what'll be there, Privateer Press is giving you a sneak peek of what you can find at their booth.

Just about all of us, at some point in time, has played a game of Munchkin, or possibly one of the dozens of separate sets, or the CCG. But CMON and Steve Jackson are teaming up to bring a new form of Munchkin to your tabletop. It's Munchkin Dungeon, a new board game set in the wild and wacky world of Munchkin. Beware of ducks.

The Year of New Editions rolls onward. This time, a favorite miniatures game is getting an update. It's Wyrd Games and their flagship, Malifaux. It's moving to version 3.0, and they're looking now for people to be part of the Closed Beta for it. Check out some of what's been changed and see how you can sign up to help steer the course of this new version.

The folks over at Skirmisher Publishing are no Scrooges. They are looking to celebrate Christmas all year around with their special 12 Days, 12 titles, for 12% sale. That's right, it's a collection of 12 of their most popular titles for only 12% of their regular price. Obviously, you only have 12 days to get in on the action.

Every day, we're looking for new power sources for our world. Fossil fuels will run out eventually, and we need to replace them with something. In Entromancy, part of that replacement is made by ceridium, a new element. However, along with energy, it's unleashed magic on an unsuspecting world. Your characters find themselves in San Francisco in such a world. How will they make it day to day? That's up to you to decide. The game is coming to Kickstarter next month.

There were many daring raids and operations during WWII. One possibly of the most was the assault on Pointe du Hoc. Now, you can bring the action and tension of that ranger raid to your tabletops with Crowbar!. The game is a solitaire tactical strategy game, with coop mode available as a stretch goal. The Kickstarter campaign is running now.

Your Best Game Ever is a sourcebook with a difference. Most RPG books give you info to use in your game, and in a way, this is the same. However, instead of just items to use, it's actual strategies to get the most out of your RPG experience. It's not a list of new types of swords, but things you can do to increase the fun and immersion for everyone at the table. And if anyone knows about this kind of stuff, it's Monte Cook. The book is up on Kickstarter now.

It's the halfway mark of the week. Monday, Tuesday, and half of Wednesday are done. If we've made it this far, we can make it the rest of the way to the weekend. But a couple bite-sized gaming story snacks certainly couldn't hurt.

Today on the platter we have: Oracle Sights: Handheld Projection Devices for Tabletop RPGs Up On Kickstarter; and Bases, Busts, and More Available From Alien Lab Creator.

I love trees. Though I'm a flatlander through and through, I do still love a good forest. If you're a lover of trees like me, then you've probably checked out Arboretum from Renegade Game Studios. Well, hang onto your hat, as there's a deluxe edition coming out this November.

Gen Con is ridiculously close. Much of the show is already on its way to Indianapolis (or, at least, I hope it is for all the shipping managers out there). Ares Games will be in attendance and they've got plenty they want to show off, including their new Battlestar Galactica Starship Battles game. But that's hardly all. Check out the preview they posted so you can know what to be excited for.

The campaign for Cthulhu: Death May Die might be over, but like CMON does with their projects, when one ends, another begins. In this case, it's Starcadia Quest. Yes, the Arcadia Quest brand you love so much is blasting off into space. It's new quests, new monsters, new guilds, new heroes, and the pvpve format in the dark recesses of space. The Kickstarter campaign will launch August 28th.

I am all for race-mingling. Nothing inherently wrong with that at all. And that includes into your fantasy settings. That's where you can get Half-Elves and Half-Orcs. But how will these characters be handled rules-wise with race feats and such? That's what we find out in this Pathfinder 2.0 preview from Paizo.
