Year 2016

Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!
... is what day it is.
At least for me as I'm typing this, anyway.

But "fun with time zones" will have to wait, because right now we've got a couple of bite-sized stories to give you in our Sunday Snippets feature. So let's get to it.

Today we have: Age of Tyrants Funds, Khurasan releases 1980s Motor Rifles support weapons, Another World Miniatures Releases Selene Redux Mini, Hero Lab Launches D&D 5th Edition SRD, and Polyversal Kickstarter now EU Friendly.

The Brood is pressing their advantage. The base is starting to crumble. NorTec bodies litter the ground. The transport ships are on their way, but who will make it to the Xenosathem first? Time is of the essence, delaying could mean tragedy. The final hours of XenoShyft: Dreadmire up on Kickstarter are upon us. You only have until 3pm (Eastern) today to pledge.
Well... it was worth the wait. We find ourselves once more in Saturday.
Joy...

Anyway, let's get to the various review articles we've bee coming across recently. I present to you the Review Roundup.

This week we have articles on: Dark Stories, Hunt: The Unknown Quarry, Hengist, Mystery! Motive for Murder, Porta Nigra, A Study in Emerald, One Night Revolution, Bountytown, Zombie Tower 3D, Fall of Magic, Terrakami Games MagLev Train MkII, Seven7s Card Game, Warfighter, and Phantom Fury.

When Warlord Games took over being the exclusive worldwide distributor for Wargames Factory, they greatly expanded their catalog of possible minis to draw from when making games. Well, since Wargames Factory had quite an extensive range of modern military figures, survivors, and zombies, Warlord figured they might as well come up with a game system to go with them. That system is Project Z, a new zombie skirmish game.
The Mortans for Godslayer are getting themselves some new reinforcements to make sure that when those gods are slayed, they stay slayed! They're getting some new soldiers in the form of the Xisteri Bombers, and a new monster in the form of the Moloch.
Aliens are invading!
Aliens are invading!
Run! Run! Run awaaaaaaaay!
That's what you'd be saying if you sat down for a session of End of the World: Alien Invasion. What? You don't think you can do that? Au contrere! The book is now available for your gaming pleasure.
Those who are about to die salute you!
The life of a gladiator could bring you heaps of adulation and the chance to buy your freedom. But more-than-likely, you'd end up face-down in the sand, run through with some sharp, metal object, thinking, "Ow... being stabbed really hurts, guys!" Well, in Lex Arena, you take on the role of a gladiator owner who is looking for the greatest gladiator of them all.
CMON Limited has announced that it has successfully secured $5.3 Million in funding in order to create new tabletop games. CMON, who is widely known for its use of Kickstarter in order to fund the games it makes has raised over $20mil on the crowdfunding platform so far. The campaigns it has run are some of the highest-funded board games on Kickstarter and include such titles as Zombicide, XenShyft, and Blood Rage.
Well, it seems like it took about 5 weeks to get here, but Friday is finally upon us. It felt like it took 5 weeks to me, anyway. Hopefully your week went by a lot more quickly, as postponing the weekend any more than it already is at the start of the week seems like torture.

Anyway, let's get you some bite-sized stories to tide you over until that sweet weekend does make its way here.

Today we've got: Cold War Army Lists Released for Sabresquadron, Kromlech new release - Putrid Snail Beast, MidKnight Heroes Super Chibi Kickstarter Funded, New 15mm SF Polish Half-Tracks From Brigade Models, and Pyrkol Launches the M.O.A.T. Flame Template.

Yes, I know the month is basically over, but that's when Corvus Belli tends to post the month's releases for Infinity. It's like getting paid for the month's work at the end of the month. Makes total sense. Anyway, here you go.
Once more Forge World has new ways that you can customize your Space Marine miniatures. This time around, if you're wanting to play Alpha Legion, or if you've been itching for some more options for your Cataphractii terminators, you'll want to see what they've got available for you.
Collins Epic Wargames has launched their Kickstarter campaign for Polyversal, their new 6mm sci-fi miniatures game. Well, saying it's just Collins Epic Wargames is a bit false. I've been talking lately about "super groups" of game-makers coming together to create something more (usually in the form of porting games to English). Well, this Kickstarter is a partnership between Collins Epic Wargames and 6 other companies.
Hendybadger has weaseled his way into finding more about the Marvel Universe Miniatures Game coming out soon from Knight Models. Thankfully, he's not keeping the info to himself and is, instead, sharing it with the rest of us. This time around we get a look at the different factions and how team-building works.
It's not uncommon to find setting books for RPGs that don't have a system associated with them. If it's a Fantasy setting, you can use it with any Fantasy RPG you might be playing. Same with Sci-Fi or Steampunk or whatever. Well, Drudge is the reverse of that. It's a new system of core RPG rules that doesn't have a setting associated with it. Want to play a sci-fi game? You can use Drudge. Want a Fantasy game? You can use Drudge. Want a game set entirely within a loaf of bread? You can use Drudge (probably, I guess... but I would like to hear more about this bread-based RPG setting of yours...).
Another day, another game ported to English. This time it's the supergroup of Fantasy Flight Games and Hobby World as they team up to bring you Mafia: Vandetta, the party card game of murder. The little town of Omerta was no stranger to the occasional murder. But now, it's a daily event. As the citizens try and stay safe and take out the mob, the mob is looking to gain total control.
Getting together with friends to tell stories is usually a good time had by all. You can get as silly with it as you want. Collective storytelling is certainly a part of human culture going all the way back. Well, Asmodee is here to help facilitate that and bring it back to your living room with Fairy Tales, the first in their Storyline series of games.
What would become of our beloved pets if we were to all suddenly disappear? Say the apocalypse comes and wipes out mankind, but all of our pets are left unscathed? Over time, what might become of them? Well, Pugmire has a certain take on that. What if all our puppies became intelligent and looked to create new societies, using long-lost bits of human knowledge in order to do so? Well, you can find out in the game, which is up now on Kickstarter.
We're getting to the end of the XenoShyft: Dreadmire Kickstarter campaign. The enemies are closing in. Xenosathem stocks are filling. It's time to get elite, but with some old and familiar faces in this new add-on.
Is this week going by slowly for anybody else? I dunno, but it feels to me like it should've been Friday by now. Well, we'll get there eventually. But seeing as it's Thursday (as I'm in my Thursday shirt and all), let's get to giving you some ways to make your tabletops look all the more spectacular.

Today's terrain corner features: New Houses Available From Escenografia Epsilon, Pwork Wargames science-fiction gaming mat: Industrial Ruins, and New River and Bridge Terrain from Puppets War.

With the release of Durani: Champions of the Western Wind, that marks the end of new releases for Golem Arcana from Harebrained Schemes. There are no more expansions that are planned. So if you need to catch up on the 17 retail expansions, 14 web exclusives, and other such products, you will have a chance to do so now.
Mutant: Genlab Alpha is the first major expansion to the Mutant: Year Zero RPG. This new book by Free League Publishing and Modiphius Entertainment is both expansion and stand-alone to the original game. It's also up now on Kickstarter and looking for some funding love.
Hey, it's got bears, so I'm interested.
Hello Campers, and welcome to Camp Wenamigunnagohome. Last one to get to the highway is zombie food! Haha! I’m only kidding, of course! Everybody except the first person to get to the highway is zombie food! Hahaha! I’m only kidding there, of course, too! There’s a good chance all of us are going to be zombie food!

Nightmare Forest: Dead Run is a new survival horror card game from SolarFlare Games. They are up on Kickstarter now, looking for funding love. To help out, they sent me a prototype copy of the game to check out and let you know about.

So grab your weenie-roasting fork and tent stakes, it’s time for another TGN Review. This time it’s Nightmare Forest: Dead Run by SolarFlare Games.
Well, it would seem, by post clicks from yesterday, that far and away the biggest story of the day was the announcement of the Marvel Universe Miniatures Game by Knight Models. I can't say that I really disagree. While there were certainly plenty of fine news items coming out, at the risk of editorializing, I'm really excited about the prospects for this one. Well, seems ol' Knight Models has been talking to a badger about the game. Hendybadger, to be specific. He's been posting some details about what we can expect in the game.
Fantasy Flight Games has announced a new, and pretty cool, tournament series for the X-Wing Miniatures Game. Do you think you have what it takes to be the best of the best of the best? Well grab your minis and prepare your squadron, as you have the chance to be flying against the greatest pilots in the world.
I only speak English, as I'd mentioned yesterday. However, I do know a bit if French. I first learned it back in highschool (about 95 years ago, it seems), taking 2 year's worth. I originally picked French because, at the time, I was sure I was going to be a hockey player and if I had French-Canadian teammates, I'd like to know what they were saying. Well, I never became a hockey player and I never kept up with my French, but for those of you out there that do speak French, you can now pre-order the 3rd Edition Infinity rulebook from Corvus Belli and get a free model, too.
