Year 2016

The Grizzled: At Your Orders Coming Later This Year

Last year CMON Inc. brought us the English version of The Grizzled, a WWI-themed card game of squad survival. It's right in my wheelhouse for favorite types of games, as it's quick to set up and play, has some cool artwork, and the theme being WWI I really like. Well, now I'm going to be able to get even more, as CMON Inc will be publishing the expansion, At Your Orders, for US audiences.

Monday Terrain Corner

I hope everyone's Monday is going well and nobody has "a case of the Mondays." One way to beat the Monday Blues is to talk about gaming (or so I've found, anyway). All the stories of what happened over the weekend, recounting epic adventures, or fantasy sports matches, or wizard battles can help keep those blues at bay. (Lost my game of Warmachine, won a game of Ascension, and was ahead when time was called in Guild Ball) And where there's gaming, there's usually terrain. Let's get into it with our Terrain Corner spot.

Today we have: New Dwarven Forge Kickstarter Coming March 6th, Sea of Flames Added to Dungeon Worlds Kickstarter, Manorhouse Workshop Update #14 – The Abbey of the Living Dead, and Dark Swamp: Pwork Wargames fantasy gaming mat Now Available.

TGN Exclusive: First Look at Hunter's Guild Hearne for Guild Ball

For those that have been watching, I've been talking a lot about Guild Ball lately. It's a game I've been keeping track of since I first started seeing artwork coming out for it. But now I've finally gotten the chance to really check it out. It's been a game that's been blowing up my Facebook friend's feed and I had a chance to play my first match yesterday. Well, the kind fellows over at Steamforged are coming out with a new Guild for the game and have given me a bit of artwork they'd like me to show you.

New Add-Ons For Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia on Kickstarter

Watch It Played, for those that don't know, is a YouTube channel that, well... it's sort of right there in the name, but it's a channel devoted to showing gamers how to play many of the great games that exist in our hobby. Rodney Smith has been running the channel for several years and many of his videos feature his son, Luke (who is known to just have "the touch" when it comes to getting dice to work in his favor). Well, Luke's now getting his own figure for Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia.

Darklight: Memento Mori Board Game Up On Kickstarter

When you want to play some role-playing games, sometimes you can't find someone to be the DM/GM. That can be a real pain. Thankfully, there are dungeon-crawl board games that are there to step in and pick up the slack, letting you get some good monster-slashing action without the need of someone to specifically be in charge of them all. Well, Darklight: Memento Mori is just such a dungeon crawl board game and it's up on Kickstarter now looking for funding love.

Donald Trumps Card Game on Kickstarter

We try and keep things a-political here on TGN. You can be a member of the Whig Party or the Know-nothing Party and still be able to sit down and game together. (Personally, my vote is for Pat Paulsen) But in this election year here in the US, there's been several card games that have poked fun at our political process as well as the candidates. Well, this time around one candidate gets his own game. Donald Trumps the card game is up on Kickstarter now.

TGN Sunday Snippets

The hectic bustle of Saturday has given way to the smooth calm of Sunday (at least for me). Yesterday I got in some Guild Ball, some Warmachine, and some Ascension. How about you folks?

I think all of us could stand for some bite-sized gaming stories just about now. So let's get to it.

Today we have: Red Box Games Launch Warbands of the Cold North Kickstarter, Kings of War unofficial historical supplements updated for Kings of War 2nd edition, and New White Wolf Interview.

CMON Expo Update

As we've seen, conventions are starting to come up quickly. Can you believe we're already at the end of February? 1/6 of the year is almost gone. Well, one show I'm really looking forward to is the CMON Expo (ok, I might be a little biased, but that is my honest opinion). Well, I've made another update about some new stuff they're going to have at the show that you should check out.
