WizKids Partners with Nickelodeon for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tabletop Games

Big news from Origins Game Fair: WizKids has partnered up with Nickelodeon and will be creating various tabletop games based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IP. The first products to be produced will be a TMNT-themed HeroClix line of figures as well as a set for the Dice Masters game. You can expect both of these to be out on store shelves later this year.

Justin Ziran, president of WizKids said, “We are very excited to partner with Nickelodeon on expanding the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles brand. We expect fans of both Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and WizKids will be very pleased with the lineup of games we have in store, and we can’t wait to get them in players’ hands in the coming months.”

The license agreement covers all current and previous comic book versions of the turtles, as well as the classic cartoon and the CG-animated series that is currently running on Nickelodeon.

Senior VP for Global Toys and Publishing at Nickelodeon, Manuel Torres, said, “The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are classic and beloved characters, and we can’t wait to see them integrated into WizKids’ tabletop games. We are as excited as our fans are to see Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, Donatello, Shredder and more come to life in HeroClix and Dice Masters.”

Of course, we’ll be bringing you further previews and announcements concerning these lines as we find them. Stay tuned.

I know they are promo models, but the matching headbands made me chuckle

    • I figured they were based on the original TMNT comic where all the turtles had red headbands.

I thought that might be the case(what happens if you don’t google to make sure), but I also thought how Raphael would make them dress if he was in charge. I then spent like 10 minutes thinking of how the group would change if Raphael was in charge. If they fully bought in, it would be pretty kick butt strike force

I really like the way they look. Let’s hope the final models live up to the renders.

I like that this set has all of the Turtles with red headbands. It would be nice if they had at least one set like this that was true to the original comics that Eastman and Laird published through Mirage.
